Layers Pt. V: Kairos (Ft. DSI Prophet 08, DSI Tempest, Moog Lil Phatty)

Ace: Prophet 08, Tempest, Lil Phatty
Kyle: Guitars
Jeffrey: Vocals and Bells

This is the fifth and final video in a five part series titled layers. Everything in this series was created using layers, thus the title. This song started with the Prophet 08 patch, which was Ace's first deep venture into the prophets sequencing abilities. Then He added the drums and bass. Then Kyle got the track, while he was still in IL, and added the guitar parts. Ace then mixed it a bit, sent it to Jeff, who added 8 different parts, using glockenspiel in very unique ways as well as adding his amazing and unique vocals. It has more layers than any track in the past, and it fits the stories conclusion. I hope you enjoy!

V: Kairos

My feet began to move with purpose and direction. I knew where my travels were leading me. My plans stood before me, showing me all that the world had to offer. With my heart leading the way, my mind was able to once again take in this perfect moment, now fulfilled by purpose, context, and cause. The world was painting its extravagant artwork all around me. But, this time I was not an observer, trying with futility to drink it in. I was a part of it. Every stroke of light bounced off me, casting shadows against the rocks as I moved upward. My feet left soft wet footprints as I climbed. I was not an idle consumer of the worlds majesty, I was intrinsically bound to it, participating in it, and engaged by it.

As I reached the top, the wind blew wildly around me, kicking up leaves and dust in chaotic, swirling patterns. I danced through the chaos, adding my notes to the cacophony. The dust whipped against my clothes, the sun beat against my skin. Down below waves crashed and slowly weathered away at the rocks. It was a perfect, deliberate moment, made of chaos and complexity. There was rhythm, hidden in the noise, all I had to do was find it.
All I needed was this crucial experience of breaking and mending. The beach found me lost. The cliffs broke me down. The cavern healed my wounds. The morning gave me purpose. I had found the patterns in the static and now nothing could stop me."

"Check out a quick jam on the K10 Dual Envelope module showing some of the interesting features of the module. In this video the bassline is coming from a computer via MIDI and the K1 Mixer Interface is being used to convert MIDI into pitch, gate and velocity signals.

The K10 is a voltage controllable dual ADSR envelope generator with support for velocity-sensitive playing and lots of other control possibilites."
