Synthpro's year of Restorations and stuff, (Original Music)

Published on Jan 28, 2015 synthpro

"Hello Everyone,

It has been a while since I have posted any new videos so here it is. As you will see from the video, I have been up to quite a bit of work on top of my full time job, have not had much time to make any individual restoration videos like I was hoping for.

In a nutshell, this year consisted of 3 Memorymoog Restorations, 4 Polymoog restorations/ repairs, Moog rogue work, and some personal time with some of my own instruments.

The Music:

The Name of this track is Mechanical Lifestyle.

What you are hearing on this track is my Roland CR-78 being clocked from my Cubase click track using the Future Retro SWYX box. At the same time I had my minimoog Voyager XL LFO synced to the same clock and then had it patched into my 1972 Minimoog model D for Sample and Hold on the VCF. The Voyager XL was used for the backing bass sweep. There are many other tricks I used as well.

As always guys, thanks for watching and take care,
Jareth/ Synthpro"

"This Metasonix TM-1 is item which was discontinued in 2009. The TM-1, like all Metasonix products, was lovingly handcrafted in Lakeport, California (by fairies).

'VERY WEIRD AND WONDERFUL ! ' is how one of our customers described this unit. If you are the type who likes things that are different , the Metasonix TM-1 may be just what you have been searching for. With its all vacuum tube circuit, there is no mistaking the sound of the TM-1 with any other device.

Metasonix took the basic circuit of their award-winning TS-21 Hellfire Modulator, and added the world's first vacuum tube audio ring modulator. The result is a new sound-effects device in a small, economical package. The sound is totally unique, powerful and distinctive. Use it as a stand-alone effects box, or mount it in a modular synth with the optional TM-D or TM-M kit.

The pentode preamp gives gain and distortion; the pulser injects small pulses on top of the signal; and the beam tube gives both wavefolding and ring modulation (carrier provided by an internal wide-range oscillator, or inject your own carrier signal). The TM-1 can also be used as a self-contained pseudorandom signal generator, by patching its output back to its input. You've read about "strange attractors" and other chaotic sound generation techniques? The TM-1 is the first all-tube chaotic sound generator. The results must be heard to be believed!

Frequency response: less than 10 Hz to greater than 40 kHz
Distortion: from less than 0.1% to 100%, depending on control settings and input waveform
Hum and noise: less than 0.5 mV
Power input: 10 - 12 volts AC, 50/60 Hz, 0.8 amp at idle
Inputs: phone jacks for audio input; optional inputs for beam-tube CV, VCA CV, and ring-modulator external carrier (requires at least 20v p-p signal for full effect) Output: audio (mono)
Dimensions: 7 1/2" (192mm) x 4 3/8" (112mm) x 3" (77mm)
Weight (not including accessories): 5 pounds (2.2 kg)"

New Cogito Cartesian Sequencer for Audulus

"Using Audulus for audio processing and pushing the iPhone to its ultimate limit, Audulus user Bimini Road has created Cogito, a Cartesian Sequencer. Building on the work of other talented Audulus users--JDRaoul, afta8, and jjthrash, --- the patch is worked out and explained in detail on the Audulus Forum.

The Cogito Sequener’s user interface is enabled by the Custom Nodes upgrade, an Audulus feature which allows custom-designed user interfaces.

Audulus is a minimalist modular software synthesizer and effects processor. With Audulus, users can build synthesizers, design new sounds, or process audio. All with low latency real-time processing suitable for live performance.

Audulus for iOS is available on the App Store for $14.99. An iPhone 4s or iPad 2 is required.

Audulus for Mac is available on the Mac App Store for $29.99. Mid 2010 or later Mac is required.

Audulus for Windows is available directly through audulus.com for $29.99. Buy now and receive ALL in-app upgrades FREE. That’s $45 worth of upgrades.

For more information, visit audulus.com."

The following are some details on the sequencer captured from the Audulus forum. Impressive.

"Ok, so here it is - the first (somewhat buggy) draft of Cogito, my Cartesian Sequencer - so called because...well, you'll see. I pushed the iPhone to its absolute limit with this one. It only takes up - ONLY, haha - 30% of the CPU, but I can *barely* get it to work with a synth beefier than 1 OSC node, 1 ADSR, 1 delay, and 1 reverb. It's official - I need to get a new Mac if I really want to pursue my Audulus dreams.

First, thanks are in order:
