Electribe 2 | Ambient IV (In the Woods)

Published on Jul 20, 2015 r beny

"Ambient jam on the Korg Electribe 2 in the woods. I find a lot musical inspiration in nature and decided to take the E2 on a hike. The ability to run the E2 on batteries is a boon. Also took a field recording of the area I was in and added it to this track, because why not?

Didn't have a tripod so the camera angle is less than desirable, but I liked what I got. Planning some more nature jams in the future."

Big Ben Mechanical Clock as a Clock Source

Published on Jul 20, 2015 Pulp Logic

"Using a mechanical clock to trigger a Eurorack Lunchbox system. A piezo disc picks up the mechanical vibration from the clock movement. The signal is amplified using a CTACT tile. A pulse is shaped with a comparator in order to drive the Trigger Man sequencer."

Peahix is the man behind optigan.com and he brought us a number of great synth vids. Note this DX100 does have problems so this one is likely for the DIY or circuit bending crowd:

"Currently powers up, but enters a glitchy state where the display flashes random characters, and sometimes it makes garbled/glitchy sounds, either on its own, or sometimes responding to the keyboard and/or MIDI. Most likely there's just a loose chip or some other connection inside. I have not attempted to repair it or trace the source of the problem myself. Could probably be fixed pretty easily by someone qualified to work on this type of electronics, otherwise this would make a great circuit-bending candidate. The data slider cap is missing, and there's some minor scuffs & grime, but otherwise it's in good shape cosmetically. Please see pics for further details."

Been a long while putting anything up. Here's an improvisation. Polysynth: Roland Juno-106 for sweeps
Euro: Pittsburgh System 10.1+ with DNA Symbiotic Waves Arpeggio
Delay Effect: Eventide Timefactor

Midi3 module is in Arpeggio Mode, CV1 goes to Synth box by default. CV2 plugged into DNA. DNA and Synth Box mixed together in Mix Mult module. Mix sent to LPG input, in lowpass mode. LFO is modulating DNAs CTRL voltage. Fun fun fun."
