"Audio illustrator James Newman and the James Newman world orchestra are pleased to present 'The reverberation of time'.

This is my musical portrait of Ecclesiastes 1:2-11.

2“Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher, “Vanity of vanities! All is vanity.” 3What advantage does man have in all his work Which he does under the sun? 4A generation goes and a generation comes, But the earth remains forever. 5Also, the sun rises and the sun sets; And hastening to its place it rises there again. 6Blowing toward the south, Then turning toward the north, The wind continues swirling along; And on its circular courses the wind returns. 7All the rivers flow into the sea, Yet the sea is not full. To the place where the rivers flow, There they flow again. 8All things are wearisome; Man is not able to tell it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor is the ear filled with hearing. 9That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun. 10Is there anything of which one might say, “See this, it is new”? Already it has existed for ages Which were before us. 11There is no remembrance of earlier things; And also of the later things which will occur, There will be for them no remembrance Among those who will come later still.

Planar (Telharmonic, Clouds, TB-03)

Published on Nov 22, 2017 Tape Ghost

"My first video with a new modular I just built. I wanted to build a system that was desktop synth sized and was designed around a specific sound design goal. I wanted something with additive synthesis and that was excellent for drones, textures, and ambiences. The result is a 4U, 42HP system with Mutable Instruments Ears and Clouds, Make Noise Telharmonic as the voice, LXD for filtering and Low Pass Gate enveloping, 2HP VCA for vca duties, and some Pulp Logic tiles for LFOs, Envelops, Attenuation/Offset, and Mixing. The case is from Pulp Logic as well.

The patch in this video has the TB-03 running into the mixer on the modular, and the output of the mixer runs into the input on clouds. The Telharmonic noise out is going into the top LPG on the LXD, and it is being enveloped by the output signal of Ears, then the LXD output is sent to the mixer (thats how i get the snare drum sounds when i tap the case), the P output of the Telharmonic is sent to the other LPG on the LXD and the gate out on the TB-03 sends a gate to the Strike Input of the LXD. That output is then sent into the VCA to be scaled down to the volume level of the TB-03 and then sent into the mixer. The Telharmonic is in the Shift Register Mode, with the TB-03 gate being sent to the D-Gate, and the Degree is being swept by an LFO. There is also an LFO being sent to the Size on the Clouds to prevent Clouds from becoming too resonant. Output goes directly from Clouds stereo out to a Zoom H4N field Recorder. Only limiting was applied in post."

Audulus Eurorack Expert Sleepers ES-8 Demo

Published on Sep 21, 2017 audulus

"In this clip, Audulus is sending both audio and control voltages out through the Expert Sleepers ES-8 from an iPad. The patch is sequencing a bass and lead sound as well as a drum kit. The pad is filtered by the Doepfer SEM VCF and the bass is distorted and mangled by the STG Soundlabs .mix, the Erica Synths Fusion Tube Mixer, the Pulp Logic Spring Reverb 1U tile, and the Rossum Electromusic Evolution VCF.

Big Ben Mechanical Clock as a Clock Source

Published on Jul 20, 2015 Pulp Logic

"Using a mechanical clock to trigger a Eurorack Lunchbox system. A piezo disc picks up the mechanical vibration from the clock movement. The signal is amplified using a CTACT tile. A pulse is shaped with a comparator in order to drive the Trigger Man sequencer."

Cyclic Skew Introduction

Published on May 12, 2015 Pulp Logic

"The Cyclic-Skew is a basic modulation source in the 1U tile format. It has two modes of operation; Cycle mode and Envelope mode which are set by the toggle switch on the front panel. In cycle mode it operates as a variable shape LFO where you can set the Rate and the Skew. It has similar operation and range as the LFO in the Korg MS-20. Unlike the Korg LFO, the Cyclic Skew has the ability to reset the LFO on an external trigger event.

In Envelope mode the Trigger input produces a single envelope each time it receives a trigger or gate signal. If a new trigger occurs before the envelope completes a reset takes place and the envelope with restart from the bottom of the cycle.

On the back of the tile is a pair of Dip switches for setting the output to either Un-ipolar or Bi-polar and for setting the output level."

Reverberant Mechanical Summer - First Experiments

"Driving both ends of a reverb tank and extracting the audio from the center of the springs with a piezo disc. The tank is an Accutronics mini tank with 150 Ohm input and 1k5 ohm output. The drive circuit is two constant current amplifiers one feeding each end. The audio is 100% wet out of the piezo amplifier."

601.1 [eurorack volca touchOSC]

Published on Feb 16, 2015 donaldjasoncrunk

"a new configuration for my Erthenvar / Pulp Logic lunchbox synth centered around the WMD Sequential Switch Matrix and Make Noise Phonogene. both are controlled by some custom layouts i made in touchOSC, and MIDI is being transmitted via the MIDI Implant tile.

this rig is really intented to function alongside the Korg Volcas and other similar instruments, with the SSM being very useful for routing clocks and audio between the boxes.

in this patch, a cycling function acts as master clock for the STG Soundlabs .DIV, which the WMD SSM dutifully distributes to the Volcas, Phonogene and back into itself. The XY pad controls CV inputs on the Phonogene while the Korg Volca keys and Monotribe stumble along behind."
