"The absolute classic, as if you need any introduction, this Roland TR-808 has a history of its own. This drum machine lived at the now defunct Soma Recording Studios here in Chicago, and featured on many recordings made during that studio's tenure. This one has been heavily modded by Analogue Solutions in the UK, and includes a full tonal mod with hardwired box, and MIDI in, out, and thru ports. There is a switch on the back to disengage the MIDI. This machine was recently gone over by a technician, sounds great, writes programs, and all the mods are functioning. Due to the heavy modifications and a few sticky step buttons, however, this item will be sold AS IS, but we are confident that it will give you all the BOOM you need."

"The synth works perfectly, I've never had any issues with it. I bought it refurbished from Switched On Electronics store in Austin TX. At the time of purchase, it had been previously outfitted with 3 modifications:
1. The first one is an upgraded power cable. Both longer and sturdier than the original (or so I am told).
2. The second mod is an octave switch located to the left of the keyboard. The oscillators within the synth have an octave controller themselves, but this one adds versatility in functionality as well as tonality.
3. The third mod is an additional filter located opposite the aforementioned octave switch, to the right of the keyboard. It is singularly controlled but one blue knob. I have no information on the specifics of this extra filter, but once you start playing with it, it can be pretty cool.
There is a small blue symbol painted to the right of the keys. No big deal, I'm sure it could be removed with little trouble, if so inclined."
