Live Synth Jam 44:Korg Volca, Roland Boutique, Microkorg

Published on Jun 16, 2016 Todd Smith

"This jam uses all internal sequencing. I put a lot into this jam & love the final results. I love the way this is all coming together but it's getting harder and harder to mix all these instruments without a bigger interface. A bigger interface, Roland Boutique JX-03, Korg Volca FM & Korg Volca Sample are all on my list of things to get, so I'll keep growing !! In this jam the Arturia Microbrute and Korg Volca Beats are sleeping. The Korg Volca Keys, Korg Volca Bass, Roland Boutique JU-06, Roland Boutique JP-08 and Teenage Engineering PO-12 are all on sequencer duty. The Micrkorg is played live. This is all recorded in one take into Ableton Live which is used as a multi track recorder, mixer and adds effects.

E-MU Emulator II (1984) vs. Emax SE (1986)

The EII was the direct successor of the EMULATOR and the most famous sampler in the world, 8-bit sampling, 27.7 kHz sample rate, SSM2045 24 dB/oct analog 4-pole low pass resonant filters, arpeggiator, sequencer...

The Emax was the little brother of the EMULATOR II, 12-bit sampling, 42 kHz sample rate, analog filters SSM2047 low pass with resonance, arpeggiator, sequencer...

The comparision video shows the different sound-character with identical samples."

the first minute of Blade Runner on Sub37 and Kronos

Published on Jun 16, 2016 suitandtieguy

"Just like it says on the tin. Figured out a way to ape the CS80 ribbon sweep during the opening credits of Blade Runner. Use legato exponential glide, long release, play staccato, legato down to a low note to make it sweep while in the release stage.

Korg Kronos used for a taiko preset. reverb is a layer of Lexicon PCM80 "Tiled Room" and Alex "Large Hall" with their decays cranked up pretty high."
