"Pizzaman" - Dance Funk theme with DMX, OB-Xa, Stingray

Published on Dec 16, 2016 SynthMania

"I came up with a cool Disco Funk stingray bass line tonight, and made a song out of it. Song title by my fifteen year old daughter Grace, who came by the studio chomping away at a large slice of pizza and I asked her how I should title it."

Sad Classic - a melodic patch for Eurorack synthesizer

Published on Dec 16, 2016 Luke Killen

"This patch uses a simple four note progression (from a Mutable Instruments Braids sequenced by a tiptop z8000) for the basis a melodic rhythm based patch.

The main melody is provided by a Sputnik Oscillator unfiltered but using shape modulation to moved from harmon and pure tones. Voltage control of the shape is provided by Make Noise Maths which also has it's Rise stage modulated by an LFO. Make Noise Rene is providing the melody.

Additional percussion is sequenced by a Delphtronic Triggerman providing patterns for the kick (Mutable Instrument Peaks), Snare (Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteratus) hats and percussion."

EMW Multiwave Digital Oscillator Eurorack Module Demo

Published on Dec 15, 2016 FatSynthDude

"This module is an absolute godsend for anyone looking for MIDI-controlled digital oscillation and in my opinion, it doesn't get enough love. This is just a quick run-through of the waveforms, some variations introduced via the wavefolder control, and then some of the suboscillator waves. I can't recommend this module enough."

USB Eurorack Power Kits from c1t1zen modular

via c1t1zen

"I've made these USBpowered Eurorack pcb kits. That convert the 5V output from USB and up-converts it to +/-12V. I usually use a USB battery charger...but you can use any USB power source. I've been able to push 250mA to the +/-12v for several hours. It's great to have a portable small system to tweak on the couch or on the go. Also I have one on my bench for testing builds.

It's based on the work of Tom Whitwell of Music Thing Modular."

Kit Includes:
USBpower PCB
USB Cable
Capacitor
USB Jack
5 Shrouded Headers

Side note: c1t1zen also made the lunchbox modular featured in this video from Thomas Whitwell of Music Thing.

Korg Monologue - Sounds, Patches and Analog Lines

Published on Dec 16, 2016

"I played the Korg Monologue and am very impressed by the diversity this mono synth comes along with. I really like the analog filter type as well as the possibility to create edgy sounds versus classic analog sounds. The sequencer features a great variety of intuitve control. So you can really say this is a great synth and not only a bassliner."

DSI PRO 2 CYMBAL + HI-HAT SYNTHESIS TUTORIAL ~ Synthesize This! Ep.03

Published on Dec 16, 2016 once upon a synth

"Let's try to synthesize cymbal and hi-hat sounds on the DSI Pro 2 synthesizer. Both sounds will be based on the same patch and only differ in envelope shape. The general idea is to create a sound rich in inharmonic frequencies in order to simulate the metalic sound of a cymbal.

Let me know in the comments below if you guys have any other tips with regards to synthesizing cymbals.
