"This is a 48-voice synthesizer which uses Trans-wave technology to create the most authentic sounds that are unlike any other synth on the market. Every programming function has its own dedicated knob or button. It has an Arpeggiator and 24-bit VLSI effects with 41 algorithms, including a Vocoder and the ability to process incoming audio through the Vocoder and effects.

Trans-wave synthesis uses wave tables of sound data with layered variations in harmonic structures such that their timbres progress naturally from one end to the other. This allows for sounds to modulate over time, or by velocity, wheel, pressure, or any number of other options."

Deckard's Dream Replicates Blade Runner CS-80 Sound Perfectly!

Published on Jan 18, 2018 MrPandoman

"Here is a comparison between Deckard's Dream synthesizer and Yamaha CS-80 which was originally used by Vangelis to create the iconic synth sound in the soundtrack for 1982 Blade Runner movie.

This is an excerpt of the original soundtrack, with Deckard's Dream synthesizer used to repeat some of the melody notes for comparison, played on Kurzweil Midiboard with polyphonic aftertouch.

The Deckard's Dream synthesizer was self-assembled, having 4000 electronic components and over 20,000 solder joints.
