Skyline Forty Nine P Synth/Organ Teardown

You can find the full teardown on Kris Lennox's Music, Arts & Culture here. Also see the Skyline label below for additional posts here on MATRIXSYNTH.

"I recently picked up a Skyline Forty-Nine P. More of an electric organ than a synth, but worth a look nonetheless.

Presently it isn't working, but it should be back to full health soon. Once working, I'll upload a selection of pieces/performances to YouTube.

Numerous photos below of the innards (plus the service manual).

A stand was also included, but I haven't taken photos of it.

The instrument is quite big - I haven't measured it yet, but it looks almost exactly the same size as the Matrixbrute. Being 49-key, the size is going to be similar - but the main panel (metal) is bigger than I imagined it would be."

Jexus is on Patreon

For those of you that would like to support Jexus and maybe see some new videos from him, he is now on Patreon. This was sent my way via Anatoly with the following:

"Hello. I've noticed that Jexus opened the Patreon account. https://www.patreon.com/jexus

That's what he wrote:

'I'm alive,
Hi there. So I'm making this experiment with Patreon. Please read my entry at:
http://syntezatory.net.pl/wcog_synth_patches.htm
to get the full story (well, the full FULL story will be updated soon, in February)'.

'Uh, I don't necessarily want to get $1300 per month, I want to get around $1300 for a new synth that you choose in a poll. How do I change that? On the other hand, if at least 1300 people would pledge to give me $1 per month, I think I could quit my job and just do synths'.

I don't think it's scam, as the link published on his YouTube channel."

P.S. if you aren't familiar with Jexus, see this mini documentary on him, followed by some videos by him here.

"I started this track on the deluge using piano samples, and then layered in a Digitone patch tweaked to sound like a piano.

I found the layering of the 'real' piano and the synthetic one quite interesting, but the "song" didn't really take shape until I started noodling with the Peak. I used the BeatStep Pro as a keyboard to play the Peak and record the MIDI on the Deluge. The remaining buzzing/floating line is the JP-08 run through Clouds, which is being modulated by various random outputs from the Ultra Random Analog."

Teenage Engineering OP-1 (Part 2): Minimal Felt Bassline & Radio snippet

"The OP-1 portable synth (which is not discontinued) puts out a decent sounding velvety bass on which the jam builds on. With beats riding that crazy CWO effect. All the meanwhile, a Phase synth provides the lead sound (if memory serves me right). The radio samples are run through the delay effect. In the meantime the M1 and M2 slots affect the master EQ."

No-Input VCAs - AE Modular Synth Patch Challenge 06 #TTNM

Published on Feb 12, 2019 The Tuesday Night Machines

"This is an experiment for the AE Modular Patch Challenge #06 :) I tried to use all of my four VCAs in this patch without any input, but their own output in a feedback loop through a mixer and the Nyle lowpass filter. The VCAs and the filter cutoff is modulated by the same two LFOs. It's a weird thing when the modular comes to life like this. More info here: http://forum.aemodular.com/thread/177...
