Published on Jan 26, 2020 asogaut

"I've been so busy with projects lately that I haven't had the time to upload a new jam but here it is! I'm starting to get the hang of the Monostation, it's a really nice machine. Gonna try some CV out experiments with my modular soon."

An Update on Behringer's Upcoming RD-909 - Roland TR-909 Clone

"RD-9 Update from Uli.

Hi everyone, we like to give you some feedback related to the RD-9. Since the launch of our RD-8, we listened to you and spent quite some time to further improve the unit, which resulted in multiple firmware releases.

We're now putting our focus on the RD-9, which shares much of the same firmware. We have also taken the opportunity to completely review the hardware to ensure we do everything we can to ship a high quality product.

We don't have a shipping date for now, but we're making good progress as we're fully focusing on the RD-9. As soon as we have more updates, we'll let you know.

Thank you for your patience and support.

Uli"

Sonicware Liven 8bit Synthesizer Offers Tons Of Bang For the Buck

Published on Jan 26, 2020 Synthtopia

"At the 2020 NAMM Show, Sonicware introduced their Liven 8bit synthesizer - an affordable synth (about $165) that features an 8-bit waveform memory synth engine with a step sequencer, 32-bit effects and lots of hands-on control.

We talked with Sonicware product specialist Kyle Kilpatrick, who gave us a demo of the Liven's synth engines, sequencing capabilities and more."

Buchla Music Easel - Jumbo Jumble

Published on Jan 26, 2020 Jae Ryan

"Here's another little sloppy easel jam that makes use of the preset voltages to play pitches separately from the keyboard.

I patched the Easel's sequencer out to my format jumbler and used that to control the "mix" level of the Chase Bliss Dark World's spring reverb/mod algo. I also patched one of the random outs & used that to control the 'layers' knob on Blooper (layers of a previously recorded loop) but this part doesn't come in until the mellow part at the end, which in hindsight is a little annoying.......

It's really hard to get away from using the Easel as a "performance" instrument. I wish I could, but I can't!
I recorded in mono again but ran the track through an amp sim & into Soundtoy's Little Plate for some stereo ambience."
