I acquired this synth many years ago and it has served me well in my studio.
It has never been out of my studio or gigged since I got it.

"Here's a rare vintage keyboard/synth/drum machine/noise machine/chord arranger from the 1980s that looks as rad as it sounds! This machine will nail that Beach House sound, has a great organ and celeste preset, a flute patch that's not far off from a Mellotron, a primitive arpeggiator-type of setting for the banjo sound that is a blast to use, weird brass sounds as well some great weird synth-y tones, hilarious sound effects, great drum patterns with a fill button that adds nice variation and more. "FORMANTA EMS-01 is an electronical music instrument combining a polyphonic organ and a monophonic synthesizer. It was produced by Katchkanar radio equipment factory "Formanta", which is the manufacturer of such well-known makes of synthesizers as Polivoks, Formanta, Maestro etc. It bears the same logo on the package and retains some of its most impressive capabilities. It is designed to perform music of all genres and to create various sound effects while recording soundtracks for movies and plays, or studio recording. The organ has a 5-octave keyboard, 6 preset sound timbres, frequency vibrato with adjustable vibrato delay, decay adjustment and a stereophaser (both for organ and synthesizer). The "vibrato delay" scheme is activated again only after all the previously pressed keys are released. In the "legato" mode the "vibrato delay" scheme is not activated.

"As a teenager in 1985 and 1986, I used my trusty Commodore 64 and the "Music Construction Set" program to create computer versions of a slew of songs by the greatest musical artist of all time: Huey Lewis and The News. Only Huey songs, that was the only artist I did. I recently (Feb 2020) was able to access my 35 year old C64 disks, many of which survived, including the ones with the songs I'm uploading to this channel. Some of the songs sound better than others, but these are the original unedited files."
