Lucas Arts IN 0107400

"ex-LucasFilm Lexicon 224XL rackmount unit, w/power supply and six original cards, as a parts unit. Or you can buy a clone LARC and SBC board, fabricate a front panel for it, and you'll be off and running as the owner of one of the best digital reverbs ever made.

ABOUT THE LEXICON 224XL:
The 224XL is a classic vintage reverb released in 1984, and used on hundreds of hits back in the day, and in many LucasFilm movies, since this one was owned by LucasFilm (Star Wars / Indiana Jones / Labyrinth, etc.) as shown by the sticker on the back panel. It still sounds incredible in the modern studio. The 224XL fits so well in the mix, perfect for drums, vocals, anything you throw at it.

FUNCTIONALITY: Unit not been tested for functionality. All the boards appear to be populated as shown in the photos. I bought this as a spare parts unit some time ago but never got around to using it (I don't own a fully functioning 224XL to test these cards in).

It is missing: 1) front panel (can be fabricated and silk-screened) 2) LARC remote and cable (a clone is available and originals show up from time to time) 3) SBC board (clones are available online). 4) May need a new power switch and power LED installed. The OPT slot was for an optional NVS memory board, a clone of which is also available online.

INCLUDED:
Lexicon 224XL case, DMEM, T&C, ARU, FPC, AIN, & AOUT cards (as shown), integrated power supply (standard US Voltage)."

Simmons SDS-6 Rare-as-hens-teeth Drum Sequencer w/MIDI

"1984 Simmons SDS-6 vintage drum sequencer in excellent condition. I don't have to mention how rare this is, but I will. It is a US Voltage unit (117volts), so no converter required.

ABOUT THE SDS-6:
Simmons released about 100 of these units in the mid-80's as a way to program the Simmons drum brains. The SDS-6 can be used to trigger any drum synth (Tama TS series, Pearl Syncussion, Claptrap, etc.). This is one of the later ones, with factory MIDI and MIDI sync, which is also very rare. This is serial #82.

FUNCTIONALITY: Fully serviced last year by The Simmons Guy, who is well-known in the Simmons drum community. It has a new battery and all the big stuff in the PSU has been replaced (his words, not mine). He included a video before selling it to me, which is included below. I have tested it out and everything appears to function as it should with my SDS-V.

APPEARANCE:
The physical appearance is extremely clean. This is a collector's quality unit. The face is practically flawless with some small marks here and there. Side panels can accept rack ears if you are so inclined. See photos for exact physical description.

INCLUDED:
Included is the SDS-6 and power cord. Manual is available online. Rare chance to acquire one of the rarest drum sequencers on the planet."

Cosmotronic Vortex - Complex Oscillator (Demo)

video upload by Cosmotronic

"Two VCO's, each with a unique waveshaper and folder and a 2-pole low pass filter. An FM index bus lets you patch complex cross modulations using exponential and thru zero linear FM. The left VCO can be phase modulated, while the right VCO can be amplitude modulated, and everything under CV control.

All sounds coming from Vortex, envelopes and vca's come from Delta-v.
Everything 100% analog.

Timecodes:

0:00 Right VCO - Noodling
3:37 Duophonic patch
4:57 Right VCO Sine out: Waveshaping, AM, FM
6:17 Right VCO jam, using CV envelopes
11:02 Right VCO main out, raw waveforms
11:28 Left VCO, raw waveforms
12:29 Modulation madness"

See this post for additional details on the Cosmotronic Vortex.

Patch Tuesday - Variable Wavemorpher with Select 2

video upload by Joranalogue Audio Design

"Did you know that Select 2 can handle audio as well as CV? In this #PATCHTUESDAY video, we're using the input selector switch on S2 to 'morph' between two waveforms, creating an ever-shifting hybrid signal. Add filtering to taste! #eurorack"
