"MOOG Taurus Bass pedal synthesizer from early 1979. Cosmetically very good and in 100% original condition. Has been meticulously cared for and always stored in a safe environment. The unit is functioning as it is supposed to meaning there’s absolutely nothing wrong it. Only two long term owners since new."

The Prettiest Analog Synth (That Also Sounds Fantastic)

video upload by HAINBACH

"If you like the synth sounds of Boards of Canada, Plaid and other early Warp acts, and you appreciate beautiful design, the Mutuca FM by Arthur Joly [Reco-Synth] is for you. Arthur send me it a while with no strings attached, and when I finally found time to play with it, I was amazed by its sounds and decided to record a video on it. The Mutuca has a warm and rich tone, almost like it was already processed on tape. Not a synth for every situation, but basses and leads it does charmingly well.

Midicake ARP - Custom Chords and Octave lock

video upload by midicake

"Showing off Midicake ARP's abilities in customizing the notes available to the arpeggios.

I also lock the bass pattern to a fixed octave so it doesn't follow the global octave during the jam.

You might even spot me editing the bounce pattern. That will be available in the upcoming firmware update. More news on that very soon.

I hope you enjoy this, let me know in the comments what you'd like to see in these videos. The recent music box demo tunes are all very nice but I want to do more varied musical styles. A little edgier maybe? I'm open to suggestions.

SynthPlex 2022: Elektron Song Mode Overview

video upload by sonicstate

"Elektron users have been waiting a long time for this new feature, and while its not for all units, the Digitone, Digitakt and Syntakt all get it. We caught up with Mario Hernandez for an over view of what it can to. As with many Elektron features, its geared around performing and the ability to hold and loop at any point in the song is a cool feature."

SynthPlex 2022: 1010Music Razzmatazz - Pocket Drum Machine

video upload by sonicstate

"1010music have extended their Nanobox range - the tiny USB powered touchscreen instruments (Fireball and Lemondrop) with a pink drum machine - the Razzmatazz features 8 voices of FM and sample based drum synthesis, two fx, filters, MIDI io, SD card, sampling and pattern sequencing all in the the improbably small form.

We have one and will be reviewing it in due course, but Jim caught up with Steve Joslin from 1010music to take a look at the features."

Schaffhausen - 1010music Blackbox - Ambient Session

video upload by Senti mental

"Was visiting a good friend in Shaffhausen and made a little session on the Blackbox, which is always a good tool for a travel.

We had a little trouble with the autofocus, sorry for that!
Still using the old OS, there is a newer version out now.

Pretty straightfoward session as you can see. Best listened to with good headphones or decent stereo equipment."

Osi-Op : Making a Kick Drum (Drum Synthesis) : Vaemi (Eurorack)

video upload by Vaemi

"Hello
Today we will make kick with Osi-Op and talk about drum synthesis.
First, let's set up our audio signal chain.
Now we connect the output of our Main VCA to our speakers.
We plug the Sine Wave Output of Oscillator 1 to channel 1 of VCA.
Gozinta is a preamp module. We will use this module for clipping later in the video.
We connect the trigger from the sequencer to the Trig Input of the Function Generator.
With the help of Stack Cable, we will route this trigger signal to Trig Inputs of other function generators.
That is, Trig In 1 will directed to Trig In 2, Trig In 2 to Trig In 3 and Trig In 3 to Trig In 4.
For clipping, let this cable stay here for now.
The first Envelope will control the amp.
the second Envelope will be connected to the LPG module which will control the FM signal.
LPG Output will be connected to the TZ FM Input of the 1st oscillator.
Now let's connect your 2nd oscillator, which will make FM, to LPG.
One of the most important connections that will now create the kick and drum synthesis is that the Envelope controls the frequency of the Oscillator.
For this, I multiply the output of 3 Function Generators with a multiple and direct them to 2 oscillators.
I usually prefer to use 2 Envelopes to control the frequency of the oscillator.
Let's use this envelope by duplicating it over buffered multiple.
the fourth envelope will set it shorter to get a sharper, brighter, punchy attack sound.
I connected the third envelope to the Exp.FM input and the fourth envelope to the 1v/oct input.
After all, they are doing the same thing on both entries. At this point, some minor changes can be made.
Now we can start to hear the patch we made.
After all, you can kick with a single envelope generator, but using too many envelopes this way will give you a lot of flexibility and freedom in making sounds.
Since the Thru Zero Fm technique does not distort the frequency of the oscillator, it will allow you to shape your kick's first attack sound on a much wider scale.
Now let's activate clipping.
In this way, you can get sounds with richer harmonics, harder, brighter, and the low end is more stable. In this way, you have a chance to get much more aggressive sounds."
