Live electro/acid/techno jam using tr808 and re-303

video upload by Peter Maas

"Practicing with the setup I have been building for a live performance. Everything feeds to the boss KM60, TR-808 on beats, through bugbrand EQ, RE-303 for acid lines, Oberheim SEM for bass.... Novation Peak for pads and Moog DFAM voor zaps."

2022/08 - Yamaha CS-5 Repair & modding picturebook

video upload by Stereoping

"I recently got a #Yamaha #CS-5 in bad condition. After fixing some broken things i increasingly fell in love with it's unique sound. To expand the CS5's very limited modulation possibilities i added more and more features. This video shows all fixes and mods. With some cheesy in-between-music from 4-track tape recording - all voices played by the CS-5 of course."

Best Ambient Synth Shootout #125: Arturia MicroFreak - Song 3

video upload by Christian's Sonic Spaces

"This is the third song with the MicroFreak. It's a monophonic/paraphonic synthesizer with a digital oscillator section containing 12 different algorithms and an analog filter.

I used for the recording the following FX chain:
MicroFreak - Zoom MS-70CDR - Pigtronix Echolution 2 Deluxe - GFI System Specular Reverb 2. Depending on the recorded track some FX are deactivated

The signal went through a Presonus StudioLive 16.0.2 into the PC via USB for recording. To create the complete song I recorded consecutively several stereo tracks. The final song was then mastered with a bit EQ and compression on some tracks and some limiting on the master track.

Well, I decided to go back to the basics, but at the same time make something useful for the synth community and do a kind of competition (I like competitions;-). What's my best synth for ambient music :-)"

Wave Terrain Synthesis Module Audio Output

video upload by Sam Carswell

"Using the wave terrain module in 'fixed trajectory mode' as an audio rate oscillator. The output of the wave terrain module is sent through a VCA controlled by MI Tides running in envelope mode, before being sent to the output. The Synthstrom Deluge is being used to sequence the wave terrain module (1 V/Oct frequency modulation) and provide the gate for the envelope.

The terrain used in this video comes from the appendix of Stuart James' 2005 thesis, which can be found here: https://www.stuartgjames.com/research...

Unlike the 2DSINE terrain used in other videos, this terrain features a number of square-wave-like discontinuities at its edges. This can lead to sudden timbral changes when the trajectory wraps around to the other side.

The end of the video gives a close up of the screen, so you can get a better look at the trajectory. The fixed trajectory shows up slightly better on the video than the free trajectory point, but it's still a lot clearer in real life!"

Can you guess the song just by hearing the mechanical noises? #shorts

"Which synth pop classic is being played back here on the #motorsynth? ;-) #shorts
(I'll upload the full cover with the actual sounds later - this is the sound the camera mic picked up. Discord members - please don't spoil it, haha )
And let's see if I collect a copyright strike for this one. ;-)"

Diy Drum Sample Hagiwo Synthesizer

video upload by GlakGlikGluk

"This sample drum module was made with Seeeduino Xiao which processes wav data converted to binary as a sample program that is saved to internal memory, in my scheme I did not attach a trigger switch and bipolar voltage safety because I only used one 9 volt power supply. you can download the schema and the ino program that I'm already using on my google drive

Caution use a trigger below 3 volts otherwise you will damage it

Osi-Op : Drum Synthesis with Monophonic Synth Voice : Vaemi (Eurorack)

video upload by Vaemi

"Hello
Today, with Osi-Op, we will create basically 3 separate channels (kick-snare and hihat) with this synth voice, with a monophonic synthsizer that can only play one sound at a time, that is, only one note.
We're going to think about it this way.
As if each step in the sequencer is a separate drum channel…
or each step is like a separate patch...
If I explain in more detail
First step - it will be kick.
The second third and fourth steps sound like hihat. higher pitched and more glitch sounds… step five - snare.
Again the sixth, seventh and eighth steps will be like hihat
In this way, we will write 3 channels at the same time with a monophonic synthesizer, where we normally play mono sound and make a mono patch.
When modulations come into play, more than 3 channels can be heard, but basically it is useful to think in this way.
When all the sounds are recorded on the computer, we will have only one mono channel.
It is possible to record these sounds by separating them.
At this point, your choice depends on what you want to do.
Either way will sound professional.
While installing this patch, I used 3 osc + 1 noise +3 lfo + 2 vca + 2 lpg + 4 env + 4 cv sequencer + 4 gate sequencer + 1 dual switcher + 1 granular.
Only I processed the master channel of all drums with a granular and added it on this patch in parallel.
Let's listen to the patch together now."
