Our epic Synthesizer Pioneers 18-month calendar honors 20 innovators from over the past 60 years, and keeps time through June 2023.

It's the first calendar celebrating the achievements of synthesizer pioneers from all over the world. Each one of these iconic creators is mentioned in our calendar:

Harald Bode
Bob Moog
Don Buchla
Peter Zinovieff (EMS)
Alan R. Pearlman (ARP)

00- The Arturia MiniFreak- Multi-track musical performance

video upload by AutomaticGainsay

"Here is a demonstration of some of the timbral possibilities of the Arturia MiniFreak in the form of the creation of the musical theme for my demonstration videos of the sound and functionality. All instrumental sounds were created with the Arturia MiniFreak with the exception of drums, which were built out of GarageBand loop fragments. This video was funded by the Patreon supporters of Automatic Gainsay. Somewhere Over The Rainbow on Solo Continuum

video upload by JOSH MADOFF

"Headphones/Speakers recommended (Super Dynamic Sound)"

"I really wanted to explore what is possible when treating the amazing Haken Contiuum as a solo instrument. The range of dynamics and expression it is capable of is unbelievable.

In this performance, I demonstrate several techniques that are only possible to play on a Continuum. I find it especially inspiring when I find harmonies that normally only work when they are spread across an entire orchestra, yet they work beautifully on the Continuum.

There is no other solo instrument on earth that can achieve many of these sounds!

Headphones or speakers are highly recommended. The dynamics and frequency range of this performance are way too broad and detailed for a cellphone.

TRS80 CoCo Controlling 5U Modular Synthesizer

video upload by Danniielle OConnor

Short but pretty cool.

"This is a quick test of a new step sequencer program I wrote for the TRS80 CoCo 1. Audio from the six bit output of the CoCo is fed into the Second Sound UniSyn audio to synth converter. The UniSyn control voltage and gate outputs then trigger the modular.
I have added external sync input to this version of the sequencer program and am using the joystick fire button to test that function."
