Eurorack granular synthesis module comparison

video upload by John Schussler

"I've had Beads for a long time but have never really gelled with it. More recently I've acquired Brinta and Mojave, so it seemed like time to come to grips with granular in general, and these modules in particular.

This is a *very* basic comparison based on me reading through the manuals and spending time wiggling knobs. Each module gets a first pass using a simple Pianophonic sequence, then some time with a more complex audio source using some acoustic material from my last CD, 'The Willow Ladder.'

(Available on Bandcamp at schusslermusic.com, I will note. Nudge nudge.)

I'm really just interested in seeing which one gives me more interesting results with less RTFM'ing. I'm not sufficiently impressed by granular synthesis in general to really grind through any opaque interface designs.

Squeezing variations from 16 steps with the DB-01

video upload by Richard DeHove

"Even the best 16-step pattern gets stale after too many spins. Here I look at a few simple ways to create variations without actually writing any new steps or copying patterns. The LXR-02 helps out in the background. The routing is just the DB-01 into the Boss GEB-7 EQ and then into The Glove pedal. The LXR-02 stereo out is being used as two channels - one into the Boss delay, the other into the Mosky Audio muff clone. The snare sounds are panned mostly to the delay and the bass drum mostly into the Mosky.

The DB-01 is the clock master and one voice of the LXR-02 is simply following the melody from the bassline. The 2-bar LFO on the LXR-02 melodic voice gives it a slow wave effect.

As usual there are no other effects, tweaks or modifications to the sound - only what you see.
ps: Still having some camera wobble issues. I'll solve it next time for sure :/

SEQUENTIAL PROPHET 10 Synthesizer Halloween Horror Special

video upload by Deep Synths

"Prophet 10/5 Synthesizer used to create a track for Halloween! Inspired by the spooky side of the Prophet synth and classic horror movies. Done with the Deep Synths' spin on it! Produced by Deep Synths."

Alesis Andromeda A6 of course. I keep the titles as posted for the most part as that is how it went live to the world, and to be able to search for videos by title in the future.

Prototyping Albers drone synth

video upload by DecadeBridge

"Jump to the time stamps to see snippets of Albers being used in different ways and the testing of modifications. Demo video of the first prototype for Albers compiled over the past few months. **A few videos have flashing images**

Albers will be available soon at a reduced price for pre-order from my Etsy store:-

Serge Touch Keyboard TKB (Eurorack)

video upload by Serge Modular | Random*Source

"The classic Serge TKB is also available for eurorack - in original dimensions (4U) but with eurorack jacks. Touch sensitivity has been greatly improved and some new features such as GLIDE have been added. However, the patches in this video focus on the touch side of things."

Hartmann Neuron - A Rare Synth That Was Ahead Of Its Time (History, Review & Demo)

video upload by LFOstore

"Let's take a look and listen to Hartmann Neuron - a very rare synthesizer that was ahead of its time, offering a complex synthesis method based on neural networks, as well as 3D modulation approach and 5.1 surround sound. The synthesizer began to be produced in 2002, and already in 2005 the company went bankrupt due to low sales. Despite this fact, this rare gem has been championed by renowned composers including Hans Zimmer, and is still used in film productions and experimental electronic music today."
