Mimeophon QPAS Feedback Patch

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"Here's a second feedback patch. This time, I am using an endless loop between QPAS and Mimeophon, with lead sounds from Spectraphon. I was expecting a lot, but I used too much VCA's and couldn't really find a good sweetspot. But then I only used QPAS and Mimeophon, both modulated by the WoggleBug... Please note I recorded the Just QPAS+Mimeophon a few hours ago. The first patch was recorded yesterday evening. I glued it together.

Let's make a modular synth patch in the style of Ryoji Ikeda

video upload by Frap Tools

"Ikeda's style is famous for its austere structure and meticulously carved sounds. Such precision is achievable in the digital domain, so it may thus sound a bit odd to emulate it with a modular synthesizer, which by definition is "less reliable" than a computer.

However, even if we must forgo the exact repeatability of computer music, we can still learn something from this approach that we can transfer to our modular synth: playing with pure tones, and noise, and leaving a lot of space in the mix. Let us know if you liked the result and if you have more ideas!

Shakmat Clock O'Pawn MK2: Demo

video upload by Shakmat

"The Clock O’Pawn mk2 serves as a versatile clock device, taking on the role of true 'chef d’orchestre' for your modular system. Its transport section lets you start, stop, and reset instruments synchronized with its intuitive internal clock or have your setup dance with your MIDI equipment.

If you find metronomic clock signals uninspiring, a variety of groove patterns and clock humanization features enable the maestro to guide your setup with distinctive shuffles and swings. To complete this rich set of features in a small yet powerful clock source: presets memory, select bus compatibility, and several handy options to configure the Clock O'Pawn the way it suits you the best.

BRiES Nontemporary Toolkit / LYRATE for Decent Sampler

video upload by BRiES

"To download or find out more about the LYRATE plugin pack, visit the Decent Samples webshop: http://www.decentsamples.com

Inspired by the leftfield Lyra 8 instrument by Soma Labs LYRATE offers an unusual interface that enables harmonic (and dissonant) experimentation with a broad set of soundsources. Just like with the SYNTHS one plugin pack I wanted to provide the means to make complex and cinematic sounds yourself. To make this pack I didn’t sample a real Lyra 8, instead I recorded several other (hardware) synths including modular VCOs and a vintage Korg MS20. The core feature of Lyra 8 (i.e. being able to tune and tweak the individual voices) is what excited me to create these virtual instruments."

INTRODUCING THE CRUMAR COMPOSER - COMPILATION VIDEO

video upload by Vintage Audio Institute Italia

"Here we go - this is the first of a series of videos I started a few year ago - and I thought I'd add some songs to it throughout - damn this thing sounds nice - the elusive Crumar Composer.

4 section poly/ mono / organ / string machine beast - consider it an Italian Korg Trident of sorts.

Laughably behind the times upon its short production run of 400 back in 1982-83 - instead all the sounds generated by this guy are straight from the 1970’s.

Despite each section being quite limited in modulation possibilities it's still quite versatile instrument with some unique features such as the breath control, the mono and poly section sharing the filter, and the organ section with percussion tabs and sustain.

There's more info in the video - enjoy!"
