I recently got the Mutable instrument rings for my modular and I wanted to give it an upbeat techno-style run.. or something :D This little module has some really nice textures and timbres which are very suitable for my style of music ! In the modular you also hear the MI braids, doing a stab style sequence... both are controlled by the arturia beatstep pro in a semi random fashion. (40% random, 50% probability)
I recorded maybe 4-5 takes altogether, this being the best one.. still the vocal sample might be a little bit loud when playing all by itself in the intro section.. but hey, we need to hear what she says right? :)
The KORG volca does the low end bass, KORG monologue and TB-3 works together to create the top line bass + the dreadbox a bit later in the tune. Elektron does some extra percussions + some weird ack style sounds + the really angry metal style stabs later on.
Gear used:
Current Intellijel 7U rack: https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/445007
Sounds, Braids 3x SAW + rings (through the morphagene for some reversy / glitch processing). Elektron Analog Four, KORG volca bass x2, keys and fm, dreaedbox erebus, TB-3, KORG monologue and the TR-8.
FX, kaoss pad (samples etc), ms-70 CDR on keys and the second bass, earthquaker devices space spiral, transmisser and keeley engineering caverns on the modular.
I hope you like it !
BooOooM !"
