A beautiful synth voice - Raven from birdkids // #JAMUARY2020 DAY 2

Published on Jan 2, 2020 DivKidVideo

"It's the 2nd of January and day 2 of Jamuary ... I'm already wondering what I've got myself into committing to do something every day ON TOP OF normal work. But I was questioning that before start #Jamuary2020 so there you go. Today I set some time aside to play with a truly beautiful high quality analogue synth voice - RAVEN from birdkids. Here it's sequenced and modulated with it's two oscillators detuned slightly with PWM, crossfading between the oscillators and a couple of envelopes for modulation of level and the filter. Turning on the opto mode gives some great saturation and character and the filter just begs to be played with."

#Jamuary2020 - 02 - performed on Synthstrom Deluge - FM synth focus

Published on Jan 2, 2020 True Cuckoo

"Day 2, particularly getting used to the FM synth engine of the Deluge. The whole drum kit, and the bass is made with the internal FM synth. The drum kit can actually make one synth patch per key, and one sample per key. So you can mix quite freely when making your drum kits.
The FM engine looks like it's a 4 operator FM synth. Although it's not a full Digitone, it's nice, and easy to get going with, yet with a lot of sonic depth to explore.

The idea with Jamuary is to get going with what you have, and to help get comfortable sharing and performing little jams, and to get to know each other and appreciate what everyone is doing in the electronic music independent scene. Post a little music snippet every day of jamuary, or for as many of the days that you have the energy to. Browse the hashtag and get inspired. Get to know musicians you had never heard about, and perhaps even make some friends along the way."

#Jamuary2020 - 02 - Korg Monologue, Zoom MS-70CDR, EHX 720

Published on Jan 2, 2020 Waveformer

"My second jam in 2020 continues with the Korg Monologue, EHX 720 looper and three MS-70CDRs, like in yesterdays jam.

This time, I have three new custom effects on the pedals and three new Monologue patches, and I experiment with having a sequence recorded in to the looper, and overdubbing on top of that.

The signal from the Monologue is split in three by the SplitMix. Each of the three pedals is connected in parallel to three separate outputs on the SplitMix, and by changing the output levels on the SplitMix, I can send the output from the Monologue to any of the three effect pedals.

The first MS-70 pedal is used for the sequence. The second pedal is used for the bright synth pattern. And the third pedal is used for the solo parts at the end.

The audio is recorded on a Korg KP2S and normalized in Audacity. Video is recorded on iPhoneX. Audio and video is synchronized in DaVinci Resolve 15.

Gear:
- Korg Monologue
- 3 x Zoom MS-70CDR
- Electro Harmonix 720
- Korg Mini Kaoss Pad 2S (for recording)
- Art SplitMix passive mixer
- Homemade passive mintobox mixer

Connections:
- Monologue - SplitMix
- SplitMix channel 1 - EHX 720 L - MS-70CDR #1 - Mintbox Mixer
- SplitMix channel 2 - EHX 720 R - MS-70CDR #2 - Mintbox Mixer
- SplitMix channel 3 - MS-70CDR #3 - Mintbox Mixer
- Mintbox mixer - KP2S

#Jamuary2020 Day 2: Arturia Microfreak looped with ENSO by Audiodamage

Published on Jan 2, 2020 VolcaNiced

Update: spotted this one on discchord

"Yesterday I noodled around with ENSO ...and this App is so cool.
You can loop any Sound inside of the Ipad and outside if you have a Audiohub like Roland Go Mixer Pro or the Zoom U-24 I used here. Big advantage with the Zoom U-24 you get Audio In and Out and MIDI IN and OUT.

Used gear:
@Arturia #MicroFreak
@NovationTV #Launchpad for a bit of Rythm
#AudioReverb by @virsyn with a great Ambience Reverb (Spaces - Valley)
@ZoomSoundLab Zoom U-24 connected to Ipad as Audio Interface
@RolandChannel #GoMixerPro connected to @OnePlus Oneplus6T for recording

So enjoy this little Jam in the Jamuary Series."
