Matti recording the Mellotron boys choir

YouTube via RothHandle
"We have now entered the second phase of the recordings for the theatrical production of Bröderna Lejonhjärta by Astrid Lindgren. Our first recordings were aimed towards the more serious sections of the production...Now we are working on the silly bits. Chaotic and collagey. Loads of Optigan stuff and autokomp.

This short little film was recorded at Roth Händle studios in Stockholm. This is where I work and record artists and groups. If you are curious to find out more about the studio please visit www.roth-handle.nu"

"Kittysleep" - on Roland SH-2000

YouTube via organfairy. organfairy is becoming a Friday tradition. I like it. :)
"Lately I have been transferring some of my old tapes to my computer and one of the tapes was a collection of original melodies I made in 1994. At that time I had just got my first two professional instruments: The Roland SH-2000 and the Roland CR-1000 - in fact this is the first melody I ever recorded using the CR-1000. The other sounds are made on toy keyboards: Bontempi KS3400, Kawai MS-20, and the bass was played on a CASIO SA-3 runned through a Boss OC-2 pedal.

It is the original recording so off course I am only pretending to be playing the Roland synthesizer. The cat however, is real....

.... oh and please excuse the small mistakes and the tape noise."

The Official Organ Blue Book

Another great resource via Loscha.

"Heya Matrix;

[Update: scans moved here]
One of my proudest scans, ever. I bring you the Organ Blue Book from 1986. The "Update" was originally in the front of the book I had, but, I've put it into the back in Pt3, I felt the book had better flow. The update was sort of glued into the front, anyways.

Part One: 168 Pages; 12mb
Introduction, and everything up to, but not including, Hammond (ends in Gulbransen).
Used Organ Resale Values; Serves as a master index for the organs contained therein.

Part Two: 136 Pages 11mb
Opening page are some rough handwritten notes on a Hammond Timeline.
Starts with Hammond. Contains Leslie, ends with Technics.

Part Three: 150 pages; 9mb
Yamaha starts page 60. The EX1 and EX2 are listed. GX didn't rate a mention!
Starting Page 86 is the 'Valuation Guide for Used Organs'.

Page 120: The Update. This includes Lowery (some of which are Re-Badged JVC home keyboards).

This book is for "Serious Organs" Vox, do not rate a mention. Bontempi are in there, but, only their Spinet cabinet organs are in here. No cheap crappy combo organs. Farfisa misses out it's bravo and superbravo.

It's a good resource, but, looking through it is a bittersweet affair. The brands you love have all the pizzaz taken out of them. It's like that movie, The Straight Story. Sure, it's made by David Lynch, it has elements of his quirk sense of the absurd, but, it's still a Disney movie."

Chronology part 6 - on Bontempi Hit organ

YouTube via organfairy. via synthzoom.
"Chronology part 6 by J.M.Jarre. Most of it was played as a MIDI file using "Noteworthy Composer" for Windows. Bass arpeggio was played on Roland JX8P, strings and choir on Yamaha HE-8 organ, the rest was played on the computer's Yamaha XG soundcard - except the solo. The solo is supposed to be played on an accordeon. But since I don't own an accordeon I used the "green monster" instead. The "Bontempi Hit Organ" was made in the 70's and was actually quite common. It is a simplified accordeon with an electric pump instead of a bellow. However, it's not very good as it lacks the nessesary pressure to play fast. But what could I expect from something I got for 5 dkr. (0.8$) at a jumble sale..."

On a Bike - New Flickr Shot

flickr vi airpark

"As seen in Berlin near Alexanderplatz. This is a snapshot I took while riding my own bike when suddenly this transport vehicle appeared in front of me..."

Anyone know what keyboard that is?

Update via adrian in the comments: "It's an Bontempi, don't know the modell, but I have the smaller version of that keyboard. It's pretty crapy. The blue pads on the left beside the speaker are drums, or chords. It might be an Bontempi KS5400, but it seems like there was many models with this design (Ungly 90's). They are all labeled System 5, I guess that the sound chippy thinngy."
