The ellitone notepad is the second entry into the fn_block series of inexpensive modular musical devices. The notepad is a small handheld midi controller that is fun and easy to use. Designed to be compatible with the fn_block 01 digital synthesizer, the notepad is also highly compatible with external gear and DAW’s that accept incoming MIDI. Select between 12 different musical scales and 5 octaves to get started (hold down the “scale” button and tap any of the 12 touch note keys to select a scale). Play notes one at a time to create melody or hold down multiple notes at the same time to create chords. The built-in musical scales ensure that any notes you play will sound great together! The notepad also includes record and loop functionality. Press the “mode” button to switch into record mode and then start playing notes. The record led will light up when recording is active. record musical midi passages up to 30 seconds in length, or 50 notes in length (whichever comes first). When you are done recording your musical midi passage, press the “end” button to stop your recording. Your recorded midi passage will now begin playback. Want to add notes on top of what you just recorded? No problem, simply play additional notes during playback to layer them onto the existing loop! Want to shorten your musical passage loop? Simply press “end” whenever you like during playback to create a new endpoint for your loop. You can also change the scale, octave, and transposition of your recorded passage for new variations. Lots of fun to be had!"

"The Ellitone KeyControl is a MIDI/CV Keyboard Controller featuring 12 velocity-sensitive wooden Touch Bars and a built-in ‘ambient poly sequencer’ mode.
This device comes in two versions, with or without AAA portable battery power. The version without AAA battery power is 25% slimmer and is powered via the USB-C connection.
"There is no real way to give a good description of this Synth. Best thing would be to look it up. It looks like a game pad and in a way, like a game, you'll either come up with something incredible and win, or end up with something terrible and lose. I find the E[64] to be the perfect device to come up with musical ideas with the random sequences of notes it creates on each start-up. It is definitely not for everyone, but it is also for everyone. LOL. I love it. It brings inspiration every time I power it up. The E[64] is no longer in production. Enjoy!"

-experimenting here with a strange MIDI delay plugin I found called Mdelay. this note delay can sometimes lead to glitchy sounding notes when you have a limited number of voices. But overall, its an inspiring plugin that can really jazz up simple sequences.
-this demo shows how well these dual analog oscillators can accurately track incoming pitch voltages across a range of octaves (1V/octave). These are modern adaptions of the classic buchla 258 oscillator circuits using THAT340 matched transistor pairs to create the expo-converters."

"This unit is new/ never used. It is not 'in box' because they do not come in an official box.
Power is from mini-USB cord. Output is 1/8 jack.
In 2018, a few hundred of the original Ellitone were produced and sold. In fall 2019, a few hundred more were produced, in a different-looking chassis. Due to limited availability these are hard to find! Many synth sites have covered this fun, original synthesizer. ALso, check you tubes for what it can do.
This has a handful of functions, plus a cool way to patch the functions.
Too much modulation to describe here. Search the web for description. but here is a bit: Eight oscillators. Six wave forms. Different sequencer patterns, with different speeds and rhythm choices. Etc."
"I love portable technology and last week this charming little handheld synthesiser arrived. The Ellitone E[64] Synthesizer and Sequencer System is made by the same company who built the Ellitone Farm Detective Ultrarollz and Ellitone Multi-Synth that I already own. These are budget priced synths but the price isn’t reflected in the sound and ability, and as such they are wonderfully inspiring instruments. What you hear are three live layers mixed on top of one another. No other effects, no other instruments, just the Ellitone E[64]. All played live with no sync.

“The initial idea for this musical instrument was to somehow find a way to break away from the struggle of composing musical sequences by hand. Practically every musical sequencing device available today provides the user with a blank canvas for which to compose upon. I thought it would be cool if I could instead be working with a 'musical composition engine' - this engine would instantly generate complex patterns of notes, chords, and rhythms using a built-in knowledge of musical theory. “
And that’s this machine does. Even a novice can pick it up and have the immediate reward of performing with it. It has no memory either and every time you switch it back on it begins somewhere else, so it’s very much about the moment itself. And I love that about it!"
