"For this week's soundpack I may have went a little overboard, but I'm glad I did. This pack is inspired by a band from the UK called Bring Me the Horizon and features 64 samples (4 banks) of ambient guitars, strings, glitch and heavy drums with a few vocals and synth stabs thrown in. Anyone can slice up a song and do a finger drumming cover or remix on a midi controller, and while that takes skill, I decided to go a different route a build a pack to create your own song using a few elements/stems from BMTH and other various samples. With this you are not set in the limitations of a song/band/genre, nor are you playing a remix kit. This is simply a soundpack set in the tone of an awesome sound. Enjoy! -Kyle

"This week's soundpack gives new meaning to the term "1-man-band". While electronic dance music is fun, sometimes you just want to rock out. Growing up on hardcore/metal music and even being in a few (signed/touring) bands myself, I've always thought, "This would be great to put on a controller and do yourself!" All audio is coming from the 1/8" output on the Macbook. Audio from the iPads are recorded through the iConnectMIDI4+. The iPad running Lemur is connected to the legacy iConnectMIDI. The M-Audio Uno connects the PC to Lemur through the iCM, allowing Lemur to control both the Mac and PC simultaneously. The PC senses audio for the visuals through an M-Audio AP24/96.

Emerson Soundpack (Week 7)

"Let me preface, this week's soundpack is not for everyone, actually it wasn't even made for you...let me explain. If you follow me on Instagram (@KyleMohr) you will quickly notice 2 things, that I have a mild obsession with Midi Fighters and that I have a 7 month old daughter, Emerson (Emmy). When we started the free weekly soundpack series I quickly came up with the idea to make one for Emerson by sampling the sounds of all her toys and even her talking, throwing the audio into Ableton, and chopping it up into a soundpack. This was so that her efforts to learn the Midi Fighter would be more engaging. So, I decided that for this week I would share Emerson's soundpack with you, for those with kids, just young at heart, or looking to put something different into your productions. Enjoy! -Kyle

Traptastic Soundpack (Week 5)

"In week 5 of our Free Weekly Soundpacks, I sliced up a few loops and samples from various sources to create this 2 bank pack. It has a great amount of flexibility to be played various ways and even on multiple controllers. In the example I showed how if you switch banks while holding a loop or longer sample it will hold and continue to play while drumming in a different bank. There are a few of these hidden throughout the pack. Please feel free to send us your renditions, we'd love to see the different ways it can be played. Enjoy!
