Voidcontrol MIDI Releases the Typhon Unofficial Assistant

Typhon Unofficial Assistant - Demo video upload by Voidcontrol MIDI

"Voidcontrol MIDI has released the Typhon Unofficial Assistant, a software controller and patch librarian for the Dreadbox Typhon.

It brings the Typhon's sound onto the screen, adds full DAW automation, and keeps a library of your patches on your computer. Because the Typhon shares its sound parameters over MIDI but not its patch storage or internal routing, this is an Assistant rather than a full editor: it focuses on live sound control and patch management.

Features:

Live control of every parameter the Typhon exposes over MIDI, laid out by section
One-click read of the current sound from the hardware
Full DAW automation with real automation lanes, not just MIDI learn
A 32-step sequencer that locks to DAW tempo or MIDI clock and plays the Typhon, with per-step gate, tie, velocity and gate length, plus global division, swing and probability
A lossless patch library with naming, categories, favorites, search, and single-file or full-bank import and export
Preset export to .typhonpr for use with Dreadbox's own Preset Manager
A standalone version for use without a DAW
Init and randomize
Resizable UI, 50 to 300 percent
Windows 10 and 11, as a VST3 plugin and a standalone app. Requires a MIDI connection to a Dreadbox Typhon on firmware 4.2 or later. Tested in Ableton, Bitwig, Cubase, Reaper, Studio One, and Waveform. A Mac version is under consideration.

Available now at voidcontrolmidi.com for $15.

Not affiliated with Dreadbox. 'Typhon' is a trademark of its respective owner."

MIDI OCTAVIUS - A MIDI Transpose module for synthesizers and other devices

video upload by MIDERA

"Hello! I have developed my own MIDI transpose module.

What does it do?
It takes the MIDI note date in from your respective synthesizer to your sequencer (or even back into the synthesizer to play back the note data) and transposes the note data up to two octaves up or down. You can select your own MIDI Channel by long-pressing a different MIDI input channel.

Why did I make this?
I became frustrated that a company wouldn't implement a MIDI transpose mechanism for their synthesizer, thought they'd add all sorts of other features. This has been in development since January of 2026, or something like that.

Who is this for?
Anyone who has a synthesizer that they want as their master controller, but it doesn't have MIDI transposition buttons.

Are you interested in this? Want to help me make an enclosure so it's nicer? Check out my webzone and send me an email there and we can chat. Webzone: https://www.midera-artist.com/"

Klik - Pushbutton Matrix for the Bastl Kastle Synthesizers

video upload by Sid Rockett

"💡Discover the Klik module. Add a playable 4x4 button matrix to your Kastle or Volca synth for ultimate hands-on control and experimental patching.

⏱️ Chapters:
0:08 – Intro
0:20 – Controls
0:40– Sound demo with Kastle 2 Wave Bard

🗒️ How does it work?

There are 8 patch points connected to 4 rows (ABCD) and 4 columns (1234) of buttons. Pressing button A1 connects point A to point 1. A2 connects A to 2. B2 connects B to 2 and so on.
It is best used by dedicating rows to outputs and columns to inputs. In this configuration every possible combination of buttons will connect outputs to inputs and cause a change in the behaviour of the synthesizer.

Based on the Synapsis by Bastl Instruments ! (...hope the guys are ok with it).

✌️ I’m Sid Rockett, a designer and explorer of experimental synthesizers and custom noise-machines.

From boutique pocket synths to DIY Eurorack builds, this channel is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of compact hardware. Join me as we navigate through industrial soundscapes, deep cinematic reverbs, and the infinite feedback of outer-space delays.

The MONK Project Hardware Sequencer - Updates - GearExpo UK 2026

video upload by sonicstate

"Great to catch up with Nick Monk who was showing the Monk Project again after its success at the London Synth & Pedal Expo. What sets this sequencer apart is its combination of 16 customizable channels and a unique theory engine. While it features traditional step sequencing it also incorporates a wide range of generative models using its music theory engine to ensure musical coherence. This allows you to control melody outputs, toggle randomness, or block non-conforming notes.

The sequencer includes a phraser using Markov chains for recording and manipulating musical phrases and a new feature Nick calls HI (Human Intelligence). HI enables the machine to learn and create statistical tables based on your playing style. Nick elaborated that these features are on top of its basic step-sequencing capability.

Aimed for niche and professional composers, prospective uses span from simple MIDI creations to algorithmic music generation. The sequencer is aimed for production with pre-orders starting after summer, requiring a minimum of 20 orders to initiate a prototype run. CV and gate connectivity is also planned and in the works."

PhenoType - Generate Synplant Patches from Text

video upload by Sonic Charge

Surprisingly no mention of AI.

"PhenoType is a free script for Synplant 2 that lets you generate synth patches from text descriptions.

Type the description of a sound, texture, or instrument, click EXE, and PhenoType will attempt to create a matching patch locally on your machine. Click EXE again for another interpretation, use the result as a starting point for further editing and evolution, or click RND and see where things go.

PhenoType runs entirely locally inside Synplant 2. No cloud processing and no internet connection required.

Ableton Datashifter Max for Live Device

video upload by Akihiko Matsumoto

https://akihikomatsumoto.sellfy.store...

"Most glitch processors treat rhythm as something to destroy. Datashifter takes a more controlled approach. It breaks the surface of percussion while preserving the force underneath.

Designed as an Ableton Max for Live device, Datashifter captures short fragments of incoming stereo audio into an internal memory system, then reads those fragments back through multiple voices. These voices can stutter, reverse, jump to earlier moments, or shift playback speed in octave based steps.

The result is not a simple repeat effect. It feels closer to a live editing system for drum time. The groove continues to move forward, while small pieces of its memory are rearranged, folded, interrupted, and returned to the beat.

Meet Meow Seq

video upload by Floof Audio

"Meet Meow Seq, a VST3 sequencer inspired by modular setups.
Download the free trial from floofaudio.com

Full version is 25% off for the first two weeks (until June 15).

Meow Seq is a sequencer, a MIDI phrase writer, and a creative kick in the pants to your everyday piano-roll-oriented life.

At its core, two machines work together to generate a single MIDI output. The top machine controls timing, when notes happen and for how long. The bottom machine controls pitch, which notes play and how. Both machine contains five sequencers, all running independently with their own step lengths and play modes. Mix and match freely to build patterns that evolve and surprise, then route the output to any hardware or software synth you like.

The inspiration comes from Eurorack-style sequencing, where multiple sequencers interact to control time, pitch, and modulation in complex and sometimes chaotic ways."
