New Roland TR-1000 RHYTHM CREATOR Incoming

Update: teaser videos added below.

This one was sent in via an anonymous reader. It's apparently from a Sweetwater catalog.

The text reads:

"NEW!

Meet the TR-1000:
Roland's Legacy Rhythms Reborn

Blueprinted with unprecedented potential, the Roland TR-1000 Rhythm Creator marries historic heat, analog presence, and digital precision into a polychromic powerhouse built on the masterfully re-created circuits of the legendary TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines. Its hybrid architecture houses a trio of synth engines, bringing a prismatic palette of FM, PCM, and VA possibilities to the TR-1000's analog foundations, with ACB modeling supplying the coveted circuit-bent sonics of the 8X and 9X models. Over 2,500 onboard sounds join a wealth of digital and analog effects while the suite of classic-to-contemporary connectivity effortlessly integrates the TR-1000 into any arrangement. Add in cutting-edge Morphing performance controls, next-gen TR-REC sequencing. true-stereo re/sampling, and an unbridled array of sonic contouring tools, and you've only scratch the surface of the TR-1000's kaleidoscopic capabilities — vintage heart, modern soul. and endless exploration waiting to be discovered by you."

If legit, I'm curious how it will compare the the TR-8S. Note the change in design aesthetic. Reminds me of the GAIA with a touch of Elektron gear. Note the Morph slider on the bottom right and display on the top right.

ORIGAMI oscillator, wavefold external sounds

video upload by LARIX ELEKTRO

"As all my modules, each function is accessible independently.

Here, we will use the folding circuitry and replace the internal VCO by some other sources:
Drum loop
The UNDULA OSCILLATOR (with its own folder)
and some FM with the Quad Operators from Humble Audio

Note that this is a prototype, the final version should be better..."

Arrival of the Messenger | Moog Music

video upload by Moog Music

"A new mode of communication has arrived.

A carrier of universal language, a catalyst for human connection, a machine for deeper meaning.

This device translates ideas into actuality. It exists in a space where experimentation meets expression, where the sights and sounds of the natural world intersect with notions of the cosmic beyond.

It speaks without saying a word, as hidden messages weave into waveforms.

To understand these messages, we must listen and observe. In this moment, we’re all unified by a shared experience. It’s something between discovering and witnessing…

***

Keep on listening. We’ll have more to share with you soon.

PPG "BACK TO THE ROOTS" SUPERBOOTH Teaser

Note the Native Instruments BOOTH H130 on the bottom right.

What's under that sheet?

Is the teaser for a new hardware synth or a new collaborative NI synth? Both?

Note "PPG® is a trademark of the Native Instruments Group, used under license" per PPG's recent announcement for the W2.2x4 eurorack module.

Update: Looks like it will be a new PPG 1002.

New Magnolia Keyboard Synth by Frap Tools Coming to SUPERBOOTH

via Frap Tools

Update: video here

"And here's what we'll bring to Superbooth: Magnolia is the prototype that kept us busy over the last year. It's gonna be an 8-voice analog throuhg-zero FM polyphonic synthesizer. At its heart, all the sounds you've met in our modules: Brenso, Cunsa, and so on. We could say a 'west coast polysynth', but it's capable of analog subtractive synthesis as well. We'll bring two pre-production units at @superbooth_berlin , so come check them out and stay in touch for some video and audio stuff!"

New Synthesizers Coming from Waldorf M Developer Vladimir Salnikov

Aberfine Aeon dual VCF development video upload by Vladimir Salnikov

#aberfine
#aberfine-dev
#dev-diaries
#dualvcf

This one is in via an anonymous reader who had the following to say: "Vladimir Salnikov, the freelance developer behind Waldorf's M synthesizer, is starting his own synthesizer company with a kickstarter for a polyphonic analog synthesizer."

Some details from Vladimir Salnikov himself (Note a 1.09 update for the M is also coming):

"Hi guys. I have a good chance now to dive deep into my synth project, which I want to present soon on Kickstarter. However, I need to ask you, what do you, guys, want it to be?

I have for now actually 3 nice-sounding synths in different design phases. All these activities are for financing the 4th synth, which I see as a promising shiny new direction in the industry. But to develop this properly, I need to hire two extra developers - and I do not have money for this right now. So the idea is fairly straight - make a 'simple' synth, back its production by crowdfunding (developing costs are on my side), and reinvest the profit into the development of a fully new synth, based on some new technologies and concepts.

What is the development right now, all on the working prototype phase :

1. 4 voices 'classic' hybrid, based on Shruti / Ambika from Mutable Instruments and it's concept - intercheangable filter boards, simple control, rich sound. An engine has lot of additions and upgraded to the modern 32bit platform from original 8 bit. Target price is 459 Euro / 499 USD for the complete factory built synth (min 100 units should be backed). DIY TH kits may follow if needed (one is yet designed).

2. A Mono/Paraphonic hybrid, based on dual MI Braids as an oscillators section, and multimode VCF (triple core) of my own design. High quality digital FX (reverb, delay, flanger) are onboard (per synth). Flexible VCF 'cores' routing in analog domain. Sample-precise concept for CVs in analog domain. Target price is 399 Euro / 459 USD for the complete factory built synth (min 100 unit should be backed).

3. A 6/12 voices hybrid polysynth based on idea of OBX, but with digital oscillators. Dual VCF design (Polyvoks + CEM), base version is a 6 voices desktop module, expandable for 12 voices with voice card (USERS INSTALLATION IS WELCOME BY DESIGN). High quality onboard FX (per layer) - shimmer reverb, delay with looper, flanger, phaser, distortion etc. Dual Layer mode is possible with installed expansion. Target price is 969 Euro / 999 USD for a 6 voices desktop module, 399 Euro / 469 USD for the expansion (again, min 100 units should be backed to achieve target prices).

What will you prefer to launch first? The design readiness and software readiness are in the same order as variants, i.e. 'PolyShruti' is most ready, 'Dual Braids + flexiVCF' is on case design phase, 'PolyPolyvoks-OB6' is built on the board, working with modified M software.

Fist two synths will be equipped with an 2.23 inch OLED display (same as on Kyra) and mixed potentiometers / encoders / buttons / LEDs controls. For the last also keyboard version is desired but will be possible only in second / third batch (if any occured). Display for the last now is a question, but 4,5 inch hi-res IPS (no touch) is desired (waiting for sample delivery).

Perhaps it is a bit naive, but I am believe in the POWER of GS community, and, at least know some of you guys personally. I do love design synths, I do love how they sounds, and I would be happy to make something new in collaboration with you guys, as it was (partially) with the M. I was really happy to do this.

And again, this project is actually for financing real breakthrough. Can't manange to do this on my own, unfortunately.

So, all opinions are welcome! Thank you in advance, dear community.

Greetings from Remagen
your Vladi.

p.s. 1.09 for M is in development no abandonned abyss for the M.

p.p.s In Hybrids We Trust!"

Followed by:

"So I finally did the VCF prototyping - CEM + Polyvoks VCF dual with flexi routing (serial / parallel / serial + parallel). It's sound such an unique and reach. So, the variant 3 is finally chosen and development began on full gas."

Looks like it will be the Aberfine Aeon based on the video above?

Threetom's Synthfest France teaser

video upload by Threetom Modular

"See you at Synthfest France?

I’ll be at SynthFest France from Friday 11 April to Sunday 13 April in Nantes (France), where you’ll find me at the Threetom stand. Feel free to drop by, have a chat, and pick up any of your favourite Threetom modules directly—I’ll have the whole lineup with me for you to play with (and available for purchase too of course!).

I will also be showing a new small Eurorack case I made in an exciting eco-friendly material! I’ve made a little teaser video of me building said case.

If you’re around on Friday at 15h, I’m giving a talk called “A Wavefolder is Not a Wave Folder.” It’s a deep dive into simulating synthesizer circuits and the unexpected way in which a wavefolder works.

I hope to see you there!

Tom"

muSonics Continuo - Chord Mode Demo

video upload by suitandtieguy

"I decided to record a short demo of chord mode on the Continuo development hardware. Controller is a Roland A-49 and the synthesiser is a Waldorf Iridium Core with one of my presets.

This is still in development but it's working well enough I can totally make music with it. I've never used an arpeggiator as fun as this and we don't even have external time control (stage advance from gate input and such) working yet.

If you wish to participate in the public beta program, check it out at musonics.com. If you've already bought in, I will be finishing your modules the first week of April."
