'A little Studio Electronics Code 8 multimode test using 3 sounds on different midi channels, all with CS80 filters.

Trying out the freeware SEQ24 pattern sequencer, and I then played over the top of it

Straight into my Audio interface, and I added some reverb.
Nothing else done, just raw unprocessed synth sound.

Tried to be creative with the video :P
Seems darker than original, after the Youtube processing :(

"This time with 2 VCOs, 1 postive saw, and one negative - an old trick from the Minimoog to create a phase cancellation and make it sound like Pulse Width Modulation. Some white noise

12db SEM Low pass filter, and a little Band pass filter into the 24db Moog filter at 12 Khz Then the VCO sine waves mixed in post filter ala Yamaha CS synths"

then CS80 with it's High pass filter engaged and tweaked.

Then more normal playing with the filters in the same order more or less"

"A little different from the ones posted from other people. I mix in the High Pass filter halfway through, with resonance on max. Not unlike the Andromeda's 12db filter in sound in some ways"

Analog out, sounds a touch warmer, and has a bit more lower mid thickness. But not quite as precise, the stereo image not as rock solid."

just some Lexicon chamber reverb to add space

Bare in mind they are very basic - not much modulation going one for expressions etc
But they serve as a nice template for further experimentation
That hard sync sound of the A6 can do a lot - I used it for these patches and some piano emulations

I own a Yamaha VL-1 although I haven't done too much on it
Although I think the analog tone of the Andromeda feels a bit more cosy :D

The click/thump on the string attack is a bit annoying, I can't seem to remove it no matter what I do Slower engine optimiser settings don't help much"

Jupiter 8 and Behringer CC300 Roland Analog Chorus Clone Demos

"Picked up a cheap as chips Behringer CC300 analog chorus pedal - which is supposedly a clone of a vintage Roland analog chorus box :)

I used it with a power adapter, better than with a battery, I've read.

Anyway source sound is a Jupiter 8 latched arp line, single VCO sawtooth.

Raw, then switched on pedal with no buttons pressed - lowest setting, then every 2 bars I switch in each button mode in turn, and then with all buttons pressed in at the same time"

"The humble Behringer CC300 chorus pedal gives the A6 some of that Juno vibe :)

First part uses the first button - lowest effect. 2nd and 3rd part uses first 2 buttons pressed at the same time, for a richer effect"

"I haven't tried the dual/split modes on the Jupiter 8 much in the 10 years I've owned it! :)
So I decided to try it out today, and man does it sound silky, rich and lush!

Hard to believe it's vintage analog sometimes, it's so refined sounding.

I'm guessing this is what Roland is going for in the Jupiter 80...."

"A little comparison, using similar filter settings, with 2 sawtooth waves, an octave apart.
I also mixed the A6's analog distortion at very low levels into the main output to add a bit of grit and "definition"

You can tell the A6 has a more Moog style 24db filter. JP8 is definitely very Roland sounding....."

This Minimoog is one of the earlier models. Key contacts need cleaning...hence the swooping notes

sorry about the crap audio - the camera's mic doesn't capture bass very well, and the Minimoog has a ton of bass :)
