Knobcon cinematic techno modular synth performance by POB
video upload by Patrick POB OBrien
"This was my 76th live performance and the best one yet!
Knobcon performance in the Big Room with a metallic and cinematic all-modular techno set, and I loved every second of it.
Big ups to Mike Cameron for the invite to play this year, to Damon / OSC1Nation and Skyler / KittySpit for being so supportive since the beginning of my modular journey, to Nick / Dub Station Zero for being my hype man, to Brandy / Space Racer for mega support, to the Noise Engineering team for getting me to this con to feature the new Xer Mixa and hang with so many great people at the booth, and to Patrick Leonard for being a constant mentor and inspiration.
Modules in two cases, 2 row 104 HP and 2 row 60 HP.

"Mimetic Tuesday" — Eurorack Modular Jam
Published on Jun 7, 2017 Mattias Häggström Gerdt
"Just got the final modules for the performance rack! Turns out TINRS Tuesday and Noise Engineering's Mimetic Sequent are like the best of friends.
I recorded three variations from Tuesday into Mimetic's three slots and multed them to two synth voices. That means easily being able to switch between parts. Also added some Mimetic random to make it dissonant, and then overwrote with a fresh recording from Tuesday. Worked like a charm!
Also finally have two Basimilus Iteritas Alter, so one kan do kick duties and one can do whatever I feel like!
Sequencing
• TINRS Tuesday
• Noise Engineering Mimetic Sequent
• Malekko Varigate 8+
Synth Voices
• Intellijel Atlantis + Erica Synths Pico DSP

Noise Engineering Cursus Iteritas Percido, Terci Ruina, & Sinc Bucina Demos
Cursus Iteritas Percido wavetable oscillator with MASTER BLASTER demo
Published on Apr 17, 2019 Noise Engineering
See this post for details on each. Also see Noise Engineering at Synthplex.
0:21 Quick demo
1:05 Overview of panel and controls
1:49 Patching
4:06 MASTER BLASTER
6:53 Jam
Cursus Iteritas Percido is the second module in the Percido line of powerful synth voices. Similar to its predecessor the Loquelic Iteritas Percido, CIP takes the original Cursus Iteritas and adds the same musical envelope from LIP with attenuverter-controlled routing to every knob. With the inclusion of the performance-oriented Master Blaster and CV outputs, CIP is a powerhouse of incredibly versatile synthesis.
Terci Ruina demo - Distortion for modular synth in 4HP
Published on Apr 17, 2019 Noise Engineering
0:07 Quick demo
0:53 Panel and controls
2:33 Jam
Terci Ruina combines three classic distortions in 4 hp. Distortions are reinterpreted in classic NE style and routed through each other for complete sonic annihilation of any sound. Patch in and out anwyere in the signal chain to pick the best sound for your purpose (because modular). Looking for a pretty distortion? This is probably not your module. Unapologetically gross and dirty.
Sinc Bucina demo: VCA/VCF combo with resonant filter in 4HP
Published on Apr 17, 2019 Noise Engineering
0:07 Panels and controls
1:32 How to use voltage triggers
3:21 Jam
Sinc Bucina is the sequel to one of our first modules, Sinclastic Empulatrix, replacing the clamping VCA with a resonant lowpass VCF and VCA combo. The velocity-dependent Ping input offers classic release-only LPG behavior, while the Gate in offers much more complex slewing, useful for simple ASR envelopes to dynamic modulation. The envelope out allows the internal envelope to be routed out into a patch for even more versatility and modulation fun.

Noise Engineering Muta Jovis & Soleo Vero Demos
Muta Jovis demo & jam: 4-switch utility module for Eurorack synths
Published on May 29, 2018 Noise Engineering
"The Muta Jovis from Noise Engineering is a simple 4HP utility module for modular synths, with 4 switches that connects inputs to the outputs, giving you the ability to mute 4 channels individually.
The inputs are circularly normalled so a single input can be sent (and muted) to up to four outputs. This module is designed for gates and CV.
You can also use it in passive mode, so without power it works the same, but no LEDs will illuminate.

Noise Engineering: 3 patches to start off 2021 - Live Modular Jam Session
video by Noise Engineering
"Jam 1 - 'Decisions'
I’m using the STO through Sinc Bucina and Basimilus Iteritas Alter as the two voices in this patch. The STO is patched through Eventide and the BIA through Imitor Versio. I was able to get a string-like sound out of the STO+SB with an orchestral heavy drum out of the BIA. I liked the tension these two built on each other throughout this piece which is why I called it 'Decisions'.
Jam 2 - 'First Rainstorm of the Season'
I’m using two voices in this patch, STO and BIA. I’ve been using the SB to make an enveloped voice out of the free running STO, and using the Zularic Repetitor, Bin Seq, Pons Asinorum to sequence triggers and envelopes into the two osc’s. Just Friends is the main LFO source while the Imitor (IV flashed onto Versio) and Eventide process one osc each. I’m using the Vox Digitalis as the primary melody source and patching it into the XAOCTirana “transpose” cv input to get a progression of melodies with four different roots, programmed on the Tirana. The tirana root note moves forward every 8 iterations of the entire VD pattern. Before being patched into the mixer, both “parts” are sent through the two channel filter.
Jam 3 - 'Up All Night'
This patch follows some of the signal pathways already explored in Jams 1 and 2, but for 3 I really wanted to use the beat pattern found often in Reggaeton/Latin Trap (kick on 1st beat, snare on 4th and 7th) and see where I could take it.

Dusty Clouds Mountain Jam & More
Playlist:
1. Mountain Jam - Arbhar / Morphagene / Mimeophon / BIA
Here I recorded a sequence from Basimilus Iteritas Alter into Morphagene, and several other takes of the same sequence but different configurations into Arbhar’s buffers.2. Arbhar / Morphagene / BIA / VCV Rack / Erebus
I then freed BIA and used it live for kick / snare.
The 0-Coast is playing a simple bass line.
Both Arbhar and Morphagene go into Mimeophon. I use Mimeophon’s clock out to trigger Arbhar.
I managed to combine the “2” and “3” channels of Maths and the Varispeed attenuverter of Morphagene in a way that when channel “3” pot is fully counterclockwise the sample in Morphagene is playing in the original (Green) pitch, when I turn the channel “3” pot fully clockwise the pitch of the sample changes to 1 octave lower (White).
Just a modular jam using INSTRUO Arbhar, Make Noise Morphagene, Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteritas Alter and Dreadbox Erebus, all going into VCV Rack for some sound processing and mixing. I am also using an external plugin for the Mellotron flute sound.3. Koshi Chimes Aqua / Morphagene / Mimeophon / Erebus / VCV Rack
I recorded the Koshi Chimes Aqua in Make Noise / SoundHack Morphagene and from there it goes into Mimeophon for the delay effect.4. Make Noise / SoundHack Morphagene & Mimeophon sound exploration
Two FM operators in VCV Rack going into Clouds.
The Dreadbox Erebus is playing a single Triangle waveform through its own echo effect.
The Hermod is used exclusively as a modulation source.
There is a lot of additional patching between the hardware modules and VCV Rack so feel free to ask any questions in the comment section.
Just a modular jam using Make Noise / SoundHack Morphagene & Mimeophon. No modulation is applied except some simple LFO's from Maths.

Acid Techno Modular Synth Jam with TR-909 and DFAM - Unpatching or How I Patch
video upload by Honeysmack
Timeline below.
"In this video I "unpatch" a little Acid Techno modular rack I've been rocking for a few months. Truth is, I didn't really unpatch, more of a "how I patch" — I walk through and explain how I use modules and their sound/function. This channel is supported by my Patreons, become a member here: https://www.patreon.com/honeysmack
🎛 Focused modular voices 🎛
🔸 Cwejman BLD2 making the 303ish sound
🔸 Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteritas Alter - mad percussion sounds
🔸 Noise Engineering Loquelic Iteritas - lead, bass or rip your head off!
🔸Michigan Synth Works SY0.5 - Pearl Syncussion clone, analog percussion secret weapon.
🔸Endorphines Queen of Pentacles - 909 inspired multi-drum voice module with effects.
🔸Moog DFAM - killer percussion and synth module with onboard 8-step sequencer.
Merely scratching the surface in this video. So strap in and grab a nice coffee or tea. It gets a little long, so perhaps my next unpatching video will dive deeper how I specifically use certain modules. Please feel free to ask!
🕹 The jam I unpatch is available here, with no talking, straight up jam: [posted here]
My modular gear and set-up is in a constant state of flux and I change up my rack every 3 months, thereabouts. That is the beauty of modular synths, you design your own synth. There are no, right or wrong ways to do this, it is all very subjective. Hence, you get an insight to my way of thinking about how I make Techno."
00:00 Intro to the gear, my improvisational approach and sequences
02:04 Audio and MIDI routings
04:09 Module overview
08:21 Intellijel Metropolis - and how I'm not a traditionally trained musician.
12:04 BLD2 focus, that's Bass -Lead & Drum Generator to earth people.
13:54 Add that 909 and jamming
15:05 Basimilus Iteritas Alter - hard to pronounce, best percussion all-rounder
18:10 Loquelic Iteritas - a tale of 2 pitches
22:52 Continue the jam, that's what we came for
24:37 Cockpit2 - mixer module with that sweet side-chain pump
27:33 SY0.5 and Queen of Pentacles, serious percussion investments, shhhhhh don't tell everyone
32:15 Queen of Pentacles, the Queen is very much alive
35:29 I do like to jam, no seriously, I do ask anyone who doesn't know me
36:06 Drummer from another mother or DFAM to you and me!
37:37 Please add 909 to that DFAM, thanks maaaaaaate
39:13 Versio - reverb from the versatile vampire
41:56 Get a little crazy jamming with the reverb
43:43 Outro and thank you

Modular Iteration ✨
Modular Iteration 1/3 ✨ video upload by Andrea Marzilli
"Finally I had some time to study my newest eurorack system! This video is about some Mutable Instruments Plaits waves heavy modulated by @Qu - Bit Prism and Data Bender, plus some helps from @Noise Engineering Versio. ✨
Wear your headphones for detailed audio. 🎧"
Modular Iteration 2/3 ✨
"So I realized another soundscape with the same system, using different actors.
Here you will find a @Qu - Bit Surface modulated by Mutable Instruments Tides on the @2hp Modular VCA in order to create different envelope rhythms. It goes straight inside the Prism for some filtering and, at the end of its path, the lonely Surface meets a @Noise Engineering Desmodus Versio creating the magic space. ✨
@Arturia Augmented Voices helps me with some basses added in post.
Wear your headphones for bass and detailed audio. 🎧"
Modular Iteration 3/3 ✨
"Here we are! Last jam, I’ll do it short: Mutable Instruments Rings is sequenced by @Qu - Bit Bloom and modulated by Tides. Monsoon is freezing a note coming from Rings and Data Bender is giving aaall the rhythms to the system. @Noise Engineering Desmodus Versio adds the timeless space, as always.
Headphones = details. 🎧"
