Tribute to Mr. George Duke, by Danielle
Published on Aug 9, 2013 TheSynthFreq·200 videos
TheSynthFreq will be performing at this year's Knobcon.
"Upon hearing the very sad news of Mr. George Duke's passing, I wanted to offer a short tribute song I composed just for him. This composition is of a "jazz style" (which is a rare style for me to play in, please pardon any incorrect structures). I used a simple fret-less bass/electric piano split mode on the Yamaha Motif-6. The jazz drum pattern is 'performance' pattern that is running in the background. The bass and the ep are improvised.
I am very inspired by Mr. Duke for his amazing talent and wonderful music he has given the world. May you rest in peace. :)

Anything 80s, makes me happy.
YouTube via TheSynthFreq — May 24, 2010 — "HI! :)
This is new composition that is a kind of "tribute" to 80s movies and their cheesy soundtracks that all of us 80s freaks enjoy. I wrote this song on the Motif 6 synthesizer and am playing the lead on the CZ-5000 and Alpha Juno-1. My D-50 has a synth string patch that is added here and there in the song. MsMotif6 is playing the string track.
Please enjoy the 80s corniness of this track. lol :)

"New beginning" duet.
"TheSynthFreq — May 24, 2010 — Hi. This song was written by Crystal (MsMotif6) and I am playing harmony to the lead track that she wrote. This is a fun group song that is lighthearted and about new beginnings in life. Especially after unhappy times, it is time to start enjoying more and just be happy on this journey of life. :)
Please enjoy!

New Roland Jupiter-8 Tracks by Danielle aka TheSynthFreq
"Its Got To Be Magic" by Danielle Published on Jan 29, 2014 TheSynthFreq·209 videos
"Hi! The new year of 2014 is starting with some fast paced pure Jupiter-8 magic. :) I recorded all tracks just from the analogue Jupiter-8 only. The only sounds not from the Jupiter of course is the drum track. The drum track was written and programmed by me using an awesome app for the iphone called FunkBox, using a Linn drum machine emulation.
Track 1 on the 4-track recording machine (MRS4b), is chords, drums and bassline all in one take at one time just like using a real tape machine. Now venturing in to the world of audio track over track recording, many more possibilities are available for recording full complete songs with our beloved analogue synths that do not feature MIDI or the MIDI implementation doesn't allow multi-timbral recording to a 16-track midi sequencer.
Synths used: ONLY JUPITER-8 :)
Please enjoy the pure Jupiter-8 funkiness!
:) Danielle"

"Forever and Ever" by Danielle
Published on Jan 29, 2014
"Hi! :)
Here is a somewhat Rock/synth pop kind of composition, with a soundtrack to an 80s movie kind of feeling to it. I used all new original Jupiter-8 patches and used 2 tracks to the audio recorder which is on the stand above the Jupiter-8. I recorded JP in split mode, bass on the lower end and strings/synth on the top end of the keyboard.
The lead patch is a massive lead sound that has been set to mono or "solo" on the Jupiter-8 and also has some mild portamento added in for control with the pitchbend.
This lead is originally played in harmony with the Moog Liberation keytar.
Please enjoy :)"

Fun with Korg M-500sp MicroPreset (patches)
YouTube Published on May 15, 2012 by TheSynthFreq
"HI! :) This video features the awesome analogue Korg M-500sp (1977-80) synthesizer. It is a mono synthesizer with few controls or editing features but the 'synth' selection of sounds that can be edited can really be made useful with some mild fx added to give it dimension.
There are two versions of the synth, one with the speaker and the other without.
Synth controls:
Attack time, Sustain level (Decay and Release)
LFO rate and depth
Tuning
"Traveler" which is sort of the 'filter' of the Korg.
Port and time,
vibrato On/Off or Momentary
'Synthe 1' and 'synthe 2' are the only sounds that can be edited on the Korg, giving the user about 8 fully modifiable patches.
Korg M-500sp is an excellent bass/lead synthesizer.
Please enjoy! :)

Korg EMX-1: creating basic 80s sequence
YouTube via TheSynthFreq | September 25, 2010
"This is a short video about the basic steps to writing an 80s drum pattern with the Korg EMX. Also explained, is the process of using a synthesizer to record the bass line in to the EMX. The EMX sends midi data back to the synth, for a more realistic 80s bass patch.
The pattern shown is 4 measures but up to 8 measures are available on the EMX, the Roland Alpha Juno was used to enter the bass line into the EMX, then the EMX sent the midi data back to the Juno and the Juno's sound is heard, not the EMX (synth part 1). I also couldn't resist but to add the D-50 with some sparkling chords in to the mix.
Keep in mind that this is very basic, nothing fancy.
Please pardon my horrible explainations!
Please enjoy. :)
Have a synth-tastic weekend everyone!
:) TheSynthFreq"
