ECHON 6: Turning Time Into Sound

video upload by OoraMusic and Morphor

"ECHON 6 is a unique six-voice analog instrument built around bucket brigade delays, where sound is generated through feedback and time itself becomes part of the synthesis process.
In this video, see how exciters, resonators, and controlled feedback interact to create evolving textures, chords, and hypnotic patterns—from delicate atmospheres to raw, atonal sequences.

This is not meant to be a technical demo, but a sonic exploration.

No screens, no shortcuts—just a deep, hands-on approach to shaping sound."

Luma-mu: bringing the legendary Linn LM-1 to Eurorack

video upload by CatSynth TV

"We are proud to preset Luma-mu, a new Eurorack drum module from our friends at Deftaudio that brings the technology and sound of the legendary Linn LM-1 drum computer to the word of modular synthesis. It implements a single voice of their Luma-1 drum machine (a full recreation of the LM-1) with additional CV controls for the samples, playback modes, pitch, dynamics, and more. It comes with an EEPROM of the original LM-1 sounds that can be easily swapped out for other sounds on EEPROM or a special USB EEPROM emulator (which will be covered in another video).

To find out more, please visit https://deftaudio.com/lumamu

Morphor Radical Acoustics / ECHON 6 / first moments, touching base

video upload by BRiES

"Last week Boris from ‪@morphor.radical.acoustics‬ explained in a lot of detail how to operate this huge and deep machine - unfortunately I only remember a few of the basics. Nevertheless I wanted to create some kind of patch before diving head first into the manual for ECHON 6.

(a bit of reverb and stereo delay were added in post-production)

To be continued..."

India's Eastern Peripheral Expressway (NE2), with original music

video upload by CatSynth TV

"In our first highway video from India, we explore a portion of National Expressway 2, also known as the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. This 6-lane freeway runs as an outer belt around the Delhi metropolitan area. We cover the segment starting in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, running north to its interchange with the Delhi-Meerut Expressway (NE3). Along the way we cross several other highways connecting Delhi and various towns and cities in U.P., including National Highways 9 and 334C.

Original music composed and performed by Amanda Chaudhary/
Several of the instruments in this composition use an unusual scale and tuning that uses 12 tones taken from 22edo (equal divisions of the octave) tuning, for a more unusual and colorful sound. This including the main mallet pattern played on Arturia Pigments.

Full set of instruments includes:
Arturia Pigments, Pure LoFi-, CP-70 V, Jup-8 V, Delay Brigade, LX-21 Reverb
Cherry Audio SH-MAX, Elka-X, Solovox, CA2600, Crumar Spirit, Stardust 201

Morphor ECHON 6 BBD Resonator Synth Now Open for Pre-Orders

Morphor's ECHON 6 pre-orders are now open at Perfect Circuit

Press release follows:

Morphor marks upcoming availability of ECHON 6 as world’s first polysynth based around analogue BBD resonators by announcing opening of pre-orders

GHENT, BELGIUM: having twice turned heads and opened ears thanks to show-stealing showcases at SUPERBOOTH25, May 8-10, FEZ-Berlin, Germany and Machina Bristronica 2025, September 27-28, Bristol, UK, Morphor marks upcoming availability of its eagerly-awaited ECHON 6 — being billed as the world’s first polyphonic synthesizer based around BBD (Bucket-Brigade Delay) resonators, building upon the Belgium-based collective of artists, engineers, and musicians with a passion for creative sound experience and radical acoustic ideas’ illustrious Eurorack expertise in that area as its inaugural standalone (rack-mountable) desktop design — by announcing the opening of pre-orders as of October 23…

As an ANALOGUE POLYPHONIC MULTI-TIMBRAL BBD SYNTHESIZER — helpfully highlighted by the on point wording worked tastefully into its fitting front panel design’s execution, ECHON 6 brings the principals of modal synthesis into the analogue domain. Far from reimagining a digital concept with modern analogue circuitry, it readily redefines how resonance and excitation can interact. And as the world’s first polyphonic synthesizer based around BBD resonators, no less, each of its six voices features a discrete BBD RESONATOR that tracks the keyboard, producing organic overtones and complex harmonic depth. Duly allowing its users to excite those resonators in creative ways, ECHON 6 can generate anything from plucked and bowed strings over leads and basses to big pads and evolving soundscapes. Combining comprehensive multi-timbral capabilities, a 9 x 32 modulation matrix, a full analogue signal path, and a one-knob-per-function approach, ECHON 6 ultimately unites experimental sound design with classic polyphony. Indeed, its architecture invites exploration at every stage of that analogue signal path.

Morphor: Echon 6 - SUPERBOOTH 2025

video upload by Bonedo Synthesizers

---
I like the idea of bringing esoteric modules to destop and stand along synth designs. There have been systems built around eurorack modules in the past, but I'm hoping we might start seeing more of this in the future. This with a built-in keyboard would be a dream to explore while kicking back in the recliner.

We’ll serve up talks and demos from these Belgian creators: Joranalogue, Klavis, Skull & Circuits, ThreeTom, Voltage Vibes, Morphor and Alfa Delta.

Live acts
We close the day with concerts by Modtech (Frederik Strobbe), Dries Geusens, Halfgeleider (Maarten Voeten), Lieven Stockx, Tectonia (Ricardo Verschut) and ArkOdd (Vincent Vanesse).

Synapse workshop
During the day you’ll get synaptic waves from the Synapse workshop.

Meet & patch
You’ll find plenty of fine places to patch and catch up on bleeps and beeps.

Newbleeps
Newbleeps are very welcome, it is the ideal opportunity to meet our warm crackling community."

And via ThreeTom Modular:

"I’m pleased to announce the second edition of Belgian Modular Day, which will take place on the 15th of June in Ghent at the venue of Wisper on the site of Dok Noord.

During BMD I will be giving a talk titled “A wavefolder is not a wave folder”. This talk wil showcase how I use simulations in my design workflow. If there’s things you’d like me to specifically talk about regarding this topic (or another), please feel free to reply to this mail :)

I’m proud to contribute to Belgian Modular Day by sponsoring the performance of Dries Geusens at 20:40. Dries has a preference for self-built, analog modules, and live recordings. He approaches patches as “impressionistic snapshots of the temporary state of the system”.

Dries describes his latest release “Sakura Variations – 4 studies for modular synthesizer” as "4 pieces combined in 1 track serving beautiful sounddesign, fantastic harmonies, emotional-deep-calm layers, inspiring transitions, modular solos, energetic-relaxing-hypnotising rhythms and sequences with sometimes a jazzy flavor." My personal favourite track by Dries is “Variations on Sakura (live)”, a recording from his live performance during the previous edition of Belgian Modular Day.

You may also know Dries from the bands Nordmann, Knelpunt, and Elias, where he plays bass and synthesizer."

Pinging the VCF - 90 Second Patch Tips

video upload by Morphor

"The Morphor VCF is pingable! Sending short triggers or gates to the input and setting up the cut-off frequency and resonance just right can create some really awesome oscillations. Because our VCF is mutli-mode, you can layer the the Low Pass and High Pass outputs for interesting interactions. Adding modulations to the cut-off via it's CV input can enhance the sound even more. Happy Morphing!

00:08 Short triggers
00:09 Adjust the resonance for sustain
00:16 Add a short envelope to reduce trigger lengths
00:22 Add the High Pass output for more interactions
00:37 Add modulation to the cut-off CV input
00:57 Add another envelope with VCA for more control of the modulation
01:17 Reduce the LFO level for more subtle modulation
01:27 Happy Morphing!"
