"Semi-improvised synthesizer jam on the Moog Matriarch (bass sequence), UDO Super Gemini (poly aftertouch Vangelis brass & arp) & Sequential OB-6 (pads). I absolutely love these 3 synths for in the moment inspiration like this, and have been writing tons of songs with this combo. Here's a little insight into my process of jamming over a simple sequenced progression to find little nuggets of inspiration."

"While I've got these 2 UDO synths 2 in the studio I thought I'd put them together. Thy are very similar. The Super 6 costs less, has 4 octaves but longer sliders. The Super 8 has an amazing keyboard, more voices and a couple of extras.

i thought sonically they would be the same, but the filter is different. It's more resonant on the Super 8 and the modulation amount is much greater ... much more like my Jupiter6. Something I noticed when I put the Super6 and the Jupiter 6 together was less mod. This has been improved... loads better!

My overall takehome is -- if you're a keyboard player (not tweaker) it's the Super8 all day long. The Super 6 fits neater on my rack, and still has the poly aftertouch with the upgraded keyboard. I'm so fickle the Super 8 caught my eye as it looks more like my Jupiter 6 - the dimensions have a real classic feel. Being practical I should keep the Super 6, but who's lead by their head not their heart? ;)"

BAF 2025: UDO RBN-1 Ribbon Controller

"We caught up with Mathieu from UDO at BAF 2025, where he introduced their new *Ribbon Controller*. While the existing ribbon is familiar to those using the Gemini, Mathieu explained that UDO wanted to make it available for other synths as well. The ribbon can now be magnetically attached to various keyboards, including the Super 8, and connects through an expression pedal input for broader compatibility.

Additionally, Mathieu revealed a new module designed for incorporation into modular systems. This module features dual touch functionality, allowing you to trigger two gates and two CVs concurrently. You can assign the first touch for pitch and the second for filter cutoff, with modes like hold to retain the last CV. A forthcoming looper function will enable recording and playback of CV and gates.

Matthew anticipated a March release for the ribbon and April for the module, with pricing around €300 for the ribbon and €200 for the module."

A lot of things has been happening, family, work, life etc. I thought that id show some lifesigns, been rearranging in my studio a bit, selling some gear.. getting some new stuff. The biggest thing being the UDO Super Gemini. I have coveted this machine ever since i saw it released and today it is mine.

What you hear is Preset A1 with some slight tinkering.. a tad of reverb in my DAW and thats it. No fuzz, no flashing lights.. just the old BURG in the first moments exploring his new synth.
