Sakata/Nihon Drum Machine

"Future musician (I hope) trying out some new custom sounds for a vintage Sakata/Hammond DPM-48 Drum Machine. Custom Electronic Snare EPROM chip added thanks to the work of DMX/EPROM specialist Paul White of Electrongate.com"
Custom x0xb0x bassline synthesizer
"This x0xb0x is an analog subtractive acid bassline synthesizer designed and engineered by ladyada of Adafruit Industries. It is modeled part-for-part after the legendary Roland TB-303.
"The TB-303 (named for "Transistor Bass") was originally marketed to guitarists for bass accompaniment while practicing alone. Production lasted approximately 18 months, resulting in only 10,000 units. It was not until the mid- to late-1980s that DJs and electronic musicians in Chicago found a use for the machine in the context of the newly developing house music genre. -- From Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_TB-303, retrieved 22 Aug 2009
The 303 remains to this day a popular instrument in many kinds of music from most forms of electronica to pop and alternative and many others as well as the genre it created: acid house. x0xb0x is considered by many to be the most authentic reproduction of the classic 303 sound because it contains the same analog circuits and parts as the original TB-303. The x0xb0x improves upon the 303 by being easier to use and offering a much wider range of features and capabilities.
That said, if you're viewing this auction, you probably already know about the x0xb0x and what it does so without further ado, let's discuss why you would want this x0xb0x. This particular x0x has been carefully constructed and modded by your truly, a self-professed geek with years of combined electronics training and experience using quality tools."
A Synergy for Free
"what I have attached here is a photograph of my Digital Keyboards Synergy Synthesizer. I just got it two days ago here in San Francisco from this guitar player who had no room in his moving van for it. He gave it to me for FREE. When I arrived at his place in the east bay he immediately mentioned how many dudes had offered him good money for it in their replies to his craigslist posting but since I had been the first to reply he remained true to his word and kept it for me. I immediately recognized the keyboard from a photograph [via] of one of my heros, Wendy Carlos posing in front of two Synergy synthesizers. I will frame it and put it next to my MOPHO (I repainted my DSI MOPHO white. It is controlled with a REALISTIC MusicStar Midi Controler). Along with the keyboard came a sack of accessories: Full manual, sustain pedal/foot switch and for cartridges of 24 patches each, 3 cartridges of patches created by Ms. Carlos herself and one custom cartridge for a man named Chuck Rzeszutko (Original Owner?).
Though most of the factory presets are great, some are so so, some are incredible, half the beauty of this synth lies in an outboard computer that I do not possess. The Kaypro II computer was what ran the software for fully editing patches from scratch. I will try to get ahold of someone who has this setup. I have read that it is possible to write new chips for cartridges with certain existing units. I am very happy with the patches I have and have absolutely no problems with this synthesizer. It sounds immaculate for being digital. I will send a link to some tunes after I record with it."
