Unboxing: Korg microSampler

via Sonic State

New Novation Nocturn 25 & 49

"Key Features
High quality professional keyboard
• Velocity-sensitive, keyboard from Fatar, with assignable after-touch. The Nocturn Keyboard feels like playing an instrument rather than a computer peripheral.

Illuminated controls provide instant visual feedback
• Brightly lit 11 segment LED rings around the eight smooth encoders, and backlit buttons throughout provide instant visual feedback for every physical control.

Touch-sensitive encoders
• All 8 oversized encoders are touch sensitive, bringing up mapping information and allowing you to ‘touch’ in automation data on DAW’s with a ‘touch’ mode.

Automap control Software
• Allows you to instantly 'learn' controllers to plug-ins. The GUI graphically displays Nocturn Keyboard's control surface on your computer monitor, enabling you to see exactly what is assigned to what, without using a tiny LCD screen.

8 Velocity-sensitive drumpads
• Nocturn Keyboard features 8 'softfeel' velocity sensitive drum pads. These can do more than just trigger notes and sketch drum patterns, all can be assigned to control software parameters.

Total of 33 MIDI assignable controls
• 8 trigger pads, 8 dials, 14 buttons, modulation wheel. Sustain and expression pedal control can also be added.

Speed Dial
• The 9th encoder is a unique 'Speed Dial' which allows you to instantly change the value of any parameter the cursor is pointing at, with no assignment needed whatsoever.

USB Powered
• Nocturn Keyboard is powered by USB saving valuable plug sockets. It can also be powered down without being unplugged, preserving battery power in laptops."

Little Phatty Control Voltage Output Modification

YouTube via MoogMusicInc. follow-up to this post.
"Make your Little Phatty the center of a modular universe. This exciting modification gives you the power to control Moogerfoogers and other analog gear with Control Voltages generated by your Little Phatty.

The list of possible applications is as endless as your imagination.

The LP CV Out Mod gives your LP five 1/4" analog CV outputs.

- Gate (O to +5V)
- Pitch (1 volt per octave)
- Volume Envelope (0 to 5 Volts)
- Filter Envelope (O to 5 Volts)
- Mod Bus (Variable)

The CV output jacks are located on the right side panel.

The Pitch/Volume envelopes can be sculpted on the front panel by tweaking attack, decay, sustain and release.

The Mod Bus sources include Square, Triangle, Sawtooth, Ramp, sample & hold LFOs and Oscillator 2."

Korg Poly-61 Oscillator Waveforms

YouTube via rolandsh1000.

follow-up to this post.

"Just a short video showing the two "types" of sawtooth waveform on the Korg Poly-61. The Poly-61 has two oscillators: DCO1, a digitally-reset analog sawtooth-core oscillator (much like that on the Juno-6, -60, -106) and DCO2, a coarse, divide-down-style oscillator, based upon a CD4520 counter and some summing resistors.

I think both are musically useful, but it's telling that Korg gave the user the ability to turn off _only_ DCO2; DCO1 is always on!"

J'ai parlé trop près du mic le son est crade désolé XD"

Malgorithm pad

"Demonstration of the Malgorithm module used to "digitalize" a pad from N.I. Massive.
Some drums from an elektron SPS-1 has been added and some of them processed by Malgorithm and filtered by Sugar Byte WOW for fun + 1over-heard drum loop from DR2 :)"

Formant-like sounds with Malgorithm Nyquist

"Some formant-like sounds on a bass from Vermona MARS, going through Malgorithm.
Simple, efficient :)"

Schippmann Ebbe & Flut Exploration 1

YouTube via Jeeboo007

"First demo of the Schippmann Ebbe und Flut processing unit.
Some sidechaining and delay have been added on the E&F take for the pleasure.
I think delays and distortions are pretty good companions for this filter.
I'll demonstrate the distortions coupled to E&F later."

Schippmann Ebbe & Flut exploration 2

"Second shot with Ebbe und Flut, this time used to feed Ohmicide distortion to create some evolving disto sounds, great for ambiances :)
Some delay added to the record.
I really love this filter its possibilities are endless..."
