electronic music

electronic music from Eric Archer on Vimeo.

"I'd like to make music free of the cliched compositional motifs I've picked up from years of listening to pop tunes in America. Still, I grew up in the 1980s, and the sonic qualities of electro/new wave/industrial are dear to me. The system in this video was built between 2007-09, using 1970's and 80's technology. Its analog sounds are controlled by digital algorithms that generate rhythm and melody. When playing it, my role is to set the tuning, sculpt the tones, and create flow by switching elements in and out of the mix."

This is a busk I did in Melbourne. It's the title track from my CD and it features many of my musical inventions, including: The Claudatron (the thing that sounds like a Theremin - although it can do much more), The Rap Rod and The Orbatron."

flight of harmony V'Amp

via Muff's

"A morphing VCA. It morphs smoothly from AM>Ring Mod>Phase inversion.

The stick:
Voltage control only available for the AM. The morphing circuit is eluding all attempts at adding VC so far.

Mod1 controls the morphing - the balanced modulation.
Mod2 controls the VCA - the AM gain cell.

The jacks are wired as multiples, like on the Plague Bearer. The teeth show which ones are connected.

More details later..."
