New AtomoSynth Mochika3 Analog Synth with Sequencer from Peru
"This synth features one square and saw waveform VCO (voltage controled oscillator) with a huge pitch range, from subsonic to ultrasonic sound.
One square and triangle waveform LFO (low frequency oscillator), that modulates the VCO for the vibrato effect creating old school arcade Atari-like sounds.
White noise generator.
The Mochika3 features a digital 16 step analog-style sequencer.
LCD blue back-ligthed display (very useful on dark stages).
5 buttons and pitch knob to control the sequencer (play/stop, cursor + and -, Ok and back buttons for intuitive control)
1/4 inch audio output, 1/4 inch Control Voltage Output(pitch) and 1/4 inch Gate Output. (the sequencer can control external analog gear).
Also it features a MIDI input to sync the Mochika3 with any midi device sending midi clock signals, it can sync 1/4, 1/2, 1 and 2 times the tempo of the master clock midi device.
The instrument is ligthed with 1 ultra bright red led that indicates the LFO Rate, 1 ultra bright red led to indicate the step that is being played.
The Analog Sequencer is packed in a cool laser cut clear acrilic case that shows all the hand made analog circuitry.

Oberheim OB-12 Display Replacement

However, the replacement module requires some minor modification prior to installation. One OB-12 owner has offered to may me (Oliver, not Matrix) to prepare a module for him to install, as he doesn't want to do his own soldering/de-soldering. I thought I would offer the service to anyone else who may be interested. I am charging $50 Australian dollars (+ costs) for my service. If enough people are interested, then there would be some savings on parts and combined shipping from supplier to me.
Cost for a single module from futurlec U.S.A. is $US65, plus $US14 shipping to me. I think combined shipping for more modules would still be $14 total, shared between participants. I will supply wires and connectors at my own cost, from my $AU50 fee (it's just easier than accounting for their costs).
If anyone would like to do this work for themselves, instructions will soon be available at the 'Friend's of OB-12' Yahoo! group.
What's involved in the LCD module replacement:
Basically I will prepare a module with my own custom modifications, and send to participating OB-12 owners for you to install in accordance with my included instructions.
From me:
- Purchase LCD module, shipped to me in Australia
- Solder custom 19 pin header onto module board
- Desolder back light LED supply power resistor from bottom side of board, and re-solder to top side of board, to allow module to fit in OB-12 case
- Construct LED back light power supply lead/connector
- Solder LED back light power supply lead to module board
- Test your new display in my OB-12
- Ship display and installation instructions to OB-12 you
From OB-12 owner:
- Email me, or contact me through 'Friend's of OB-12' Yahoo! group, BY NO LATER THAN NOVEMBER 1 (at least for first batch)
- Provide postage details, so I can provide postage quote
- Make payment to my PayPal account
- Receive display in post
- Install display according to instructions. Installation is straight forward, requiring just a Phillips/Pozidrive screwdriver
- Get back to me via email, if you require further support
Cheers,
Oli

"We have now another option for replacing the display which will allow to control the contrast:

"This is the new display type for this mod:
http://www.buydisplay.com/default/5-2...
With this display, you will need to modify slightly your ribbon cable. Cut pins 4 and 20, connect to 10k ohm as described. For Ground -connect to the white wire of the LCD backlight (yellow is +, white is ground)"
Hope you will find the video useful."

ARP 2600
"1970`s ARP 2600P analog synthesizer with model 3620 keyboard controller. We believe this is 1972-1973, with a 1974 controller. The serial number on the synth is 26373 and the serial number on the keyboard is 36083R. This synth is in good working order- it passes signal just fine, but should probably be checked out. Includes the 4012 Moog filter."

KAWAI K3 DIGITAL ANALOG SYNTHESIZER

via this auction
"The K3 is a wavetable synthesizer. It has 32 waveforms, some of which are samples of acoustic instruments like piano and percussion as well as some unique waveforms. By combining two of these waveforms you can create unique new sounds or add a twist to a traditional sound. Since there are only 32 of these waveforms, the K3 also features a programmable digital waveform where you can tweak the harmonic content of a waveform allowing for added flexibility and range of sounds. What's really neat about the K3 is that it has analog filters and envelopes! So although the sound may be digital at first, it sure does get warmed going through the filter. The low pass resonant filter even has its own envelope generator. There's also a hi pass filter and a highly flexible LFO. The K3 is an interesting synth, nicely bridging the gap between the analog and digital domain of vintage synthesizers. Unit comes with the intergrated power cord and the Kawai RC-2 Memory Cartridge, and a PDF copy of the owners manual on CDR."
