Waldorf Wave
via this VEMIA auctionfull size image here
"One of the rarest and most sought-after synths, the Waldorf Wave . This example (serial number 101) is a two-owner machine, not very much used at all. It is 32-voice, **now with OS 1.803! - the owner says 'so, there is the choice between 1.68 or 1.803. of course, you can always go back to 1.7, too. but i guess one would want to stick with 1.803 as it fixes several bugs and allows to read and analyse wav files and has the possibility to synchronize the LFOs to midi'.)**, the original manual, and a recently-bought flightcase - very useful (almost essential) with a precious instrument of this size and weight. The pneumatic struts (a universal fault with Waves after this number of years) are being newly replaced before the auction finishes. The display is well readable - see photo - though it isn't as bright as when it was new. The instrument is in/near Paris. VEMIA could collect, and deliver to northern France / Belgium economically, or bring it back to England, and then deliver or ship. (Or of course because of the flightcase it could be shipped direct from Paris to further afield!) The battery was changed very recently; and everything works as it should and sounds great. There were only 150 of these ever made, so as well as being a joy to play (great user interface, silky rich sounds) it is also highly collectable!"

"I'm a dedicated Variophonist and have therefor collected quite a few over the last years. Since I have other priorities in life than repairing gear I've decided to clear out my stash of non-working units. Before you look at the picture I want to point out that all of the now auctioned units come with a full set of voice cards of your choice out of my supply of tested and working voice cards (circa 20 units) but does not include windcontroller. This unit is a Variophon Gig, and I've done some testing and came to the conclusion that everything seems to work except that it only plays sound cards inserted in slot 6 (out of 6). Otherwise it's as great as can be expected. A fair guess is a faulty IC but I cannot verify this without further testing. The case and panel are in great cosmetical condition with only minor scratch marks around edges and on the top of the unit. And, _if the final price exceeds 1000 GBP_ I'll include: A Variophon keyboard controller with mouth piece to go with it. The keyboard is in great shape and is fully working. The mouth piece looks great but has a history of somewhat erratic behaviour (i e sometimes it works flawlessly, sometimes it stops working in the middle of a song and after a short power off/on it's back online again). It is common with Variophons that the wind-to-voltage functions needs both adjustment and some tender love and care. But, as you know if you read this (or have checked out Peter's praise in 'A-Z'), the Variophon is a great instrument when working. Trust me - I have two work horses in the studio. :)"
Native Instruments Releases MASCHINE 1.1
"Berlin, November 11th, 2009 - Native Instruments today released MASCHINE 1.1, a free software update for its innovative groove production studio. The new version further optimizes the workflow and increases the creative potential of MASCHINE through new MIDI I/O capabilities, support for the REX loop format, enhanced controller interaction, and more.
To allow producers to easily incorporate external gear into their MASCHINE projects, the new version adds MIDI I/O functionality. Hardware synthesizers and similar devices can now be controlled from the MASCHINE sequencer both through polyphonic tracks and from individual monophonic sounds within a Group, while a special "Batch Setup" function makes it easy to set up MIDI input configurations in existing projects. MASCHINE 1.1 also adds support for REX files, enabling users to include pre-sliced loops in their projects that sync to tempo automatically. Any pattern in MASCHINE can also be directly exported as an audio file into a host sequencer or other audio software through a convenient drag-and-drop feature.
Further enhancements in MASCHINE version 1.1 include additional slicing options, advanced scene triggering, new metronome and record count-in options, extended controller integration for parameter adjustment and file saving, and a wide range of minor optimizations.
The 1.1 update is now available as free download for all owners of MASCHINE.
