Paia OZ

via this auction

"The Paia Oz is a way-cool little polyphonic mini-synthesizer from Paia’s pioneering 1970’s line of analog synths. The 1 1/3-octave keyboard is fully polyphonic, and has a selectable five-octave range. It has a selectable spike or pulse trigger, and signal ins and outs to interface with envelope generators and other analog gear. The original manual is included (I grabbed it from the Paia web site). I am the second owner of this unit, which I have had since 1993.

The Oz was designed to run on a fistful of AA batteries, but the enterprising previous owner of this one built in an AC power supply, which works quite well. He also added a headphone or speaker output (left front, below the “Paia”) that automatically interrupts the built-in speaker when a plug is present. Use a mono-to-stereo mini-plug converter with stereo headphones."

"Everything works on this unit except the indicator LED for the lowest octave setting. The capacitive pitch-bend pad needs to be replaced—I’ll bet you can still get one from Paia—but it works fine without it, and the wire it connects to is still there: I’m holding it in the last picture. It’s supposed to come out through the little rubber grommet on the lower left front. Should be a fun project.

This is a no reserve auction with free shipping in the U.S., and the unit, being vintage, is offered as-is."

Doepfer A-143-2 Quad ADSR controlling 3 LPGs

Doepfer A-143-2 Quad ADSR controlling 3 LPGs from katavist on Vimeo.

"This is a fairly basic (and visually boring, sorry) demo of the A-143-2, showing one of many possible uses. The patch was rather complex with Wiard Malekko Anti-Oscillator as the only audio-source, Wiard Malekko Borg Filter in LPG mode, PlanB Model 13 (both gates), MakeNoise Maths voltage mirroring MFB Dual LFO random output - this output and the mirrored cv were mixed by a Doepfer A-138c Polarizing Mixer (with additional inputs from diy 8 step sequencer and Bugbrand Ctl-1 as 4 step 3 track sequencer) all controlling Anti-Osc pitch… Model 13 SUM-output also into Doepfer A-188-1 4096 stages BBD whose output was filtered by Wiard Joyrider double Borg and finally sent to the Blacet Time Machine. First output from Model 13 into Doepfer A-137-1 Wave Multiplier I (which was fed 4 cvs from A-144 Morphing Controller modulated by A-147 VC LFO and then into diy spring reverb... plus some more senseless Maths patching and whatever I forgot... Ah, and thanks to TipTop for the wonderful stackcables!"

Buchla 259e Mem Skew

YouTube via boobtube356
"259e morph gets EG modulation again. This time the memory skew point is modulated continuously using the 259e modulation osc through the 210e. The depth of the modulation is being adjusted on the 210e."

Buchla 259e Bells

"Same patch with modification. Now 259e output is going to 285e balanced modulator where it is modulated by 259e mod osc triangle. Mod osc of 261e takes over mem skew modulation. EG also modulates 285e depth (timbre). This is a nice trick to try."

Analogue electronic jam

YouTube via rpocc
"It is a 9-minute jam performed on setup containing following modules and synthesizers:
Doepfer Dark Energy. Primary sound module in this setup.
Sovietish Ritm-2. This one used as additional oscillator connected to DE's external audio input. Controlled via Doepfer MCV-4 converter.
Roland Juno-G. Used to generate arpeggiated MIDI-pattern. (Yeah, i don't yet have a step sequencer, blame on me ;)
Waldorf Blofeld. Used to add some percussive sounds.
Electro-Harmonics Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai. (used mostly from 3rd minute)"
