The Mimsy Modular - Atari Punk Console

via synthgeek, where you'll find some audio.

"I'm building a variation on the Atari Punk Console housed in a nifty-shaped cardboard box I call the Mimsy Modular. There's a development journal of sorts with pictures & some audio on my blog: http://blog.skincontact.com/ - I'm still planning on adding to it, but it's finished enough to be a fun toy."

Red Square Paia Jam

"A simple sequence. The TR 606 is running the Doepfer MAQ 16/3 which is in turn controlling the Red Square. The Paia is being run by the SH 101's sequencer. The SH 101 is synced through the use of the TR 606's high tom gate output."

Modular Synth Fun

"My first upload(again). Just messing around with the gear. The synths include:
Roland SH-101
Analogue Solutions Red Square
Paia 9700 modular.
The patch is self contained, meaning all the changes in pitch, volume, etc. are generated from within the synths, no external controllers are used(the SH 101 is running on it's internal arpeggiator). This particular patch uses the classic noise source to sample & hold to produce the random voltages. For a little extra flavor, I routed the output of the S&H back into the frequency control input of the LFO that was triggering the S&H. This created random voltages at random speeds...fun! Thanks for watching!"

Native Instruments Scarbee Vintage Keys

via Native Instruments

"Introducing four all-time classic electric keyboards with an authentic sound you have not heard before. These soulful, funky and dynamic instruments have been sampled to perfection and recreate the genuine character of the originals down to the finest nuances. All models are available individually or get all four together in the SCARBEE VINTAGE KEYS bundle, saving you 40%*.

The SCARBEE MARK I delivers an unrivalled reproduction of one of most sought-after electric pianos of all time. Perfect for jazz, funk, fusion and R&B, and versatile enough for any production where authentic electric piano is essential.

The classic character of the SCARBEE A-200 goes from a warm and mellow vibraphone-like chime to a bright and 'barking' overdriven sound when played harder. Much loved by pop and rock bands in the 1960s and 70's and has recently found favor with a whole new wave of artists.

This instrument contains the sounds of the legendary Hohner Clavinet** with its sharp, percussive bite and the twangy Hohner Model N Pianet** - both expertly sampled by Scarbee and brimming with the unique character and funky feel of the originals."

A sample of the article reads, "What are the qualifications of an ideal musical instrument?...Yet an instrument has been invented by Dr. Thaddeus Cahill, of Holyoke, Massachusetts, which seems to possess the qualifications called for to a notable degree, and in thses days of electrical invention it is not surprising to learn that the agent which accomplishes this remarkable result is electricity...".
