WALDORF WAVE 16 voices

via this auction
"This is no MicroWave, no Blofeld, this is THE REAL THING.

All keys, switches, lights and knobs work for 16 voices of lush analog polyphony. Sold with original paper manual, floppy disk of OS 1.700 and 1.680, filters fully re-calibrated before shipping and battery replaced 1 month ago . Only the suspension of the front panel that is not holding the panel anymore, like most of all Waves today, but you can buy one new.
Once a known collector said : the WAVE is "The solution to get a DX-7 + a Prophet VS + a Jupiter 8 + a PPG in the same box !" I would say he probably forgot a few others... This is THE ultimate analog polysynth.

You will find all necessary informations about the WAVE reading the precious site of Till Kopper dedicated to it :

And the vintagesynth.com page :

DSI Tetra ,Virus Snow , Kore & Maschine (Techno Live)

YouTube via inforlk — February 20, 2010 — "This is a live performance of a song nearing completion.

I used Cubase 5 with Virus Snow for angelic Pad, DSI Tetra for hard lead, Kore for sound effects and clap and finally to the Drum NI Maschine.

Hope you like and sorry by bad sound of my camera outside."

nord lead 1 arp - super glitched out

YouTube via 909techno — August 05, 2008 — "played one the nord lead version 1 (with voice expansion).

all four slots stacked and played via arpeggiator

recorded direct from outputs. no effects or editing.

tons of varied examples of what this machine can do. glitchy fun."

downtempo relax atmosphere

YouTube via DrOctave1 — May 04, 2010 —

"A down tempo patch same as the last i uploaded just slower and more relaxed and recorded better . all modular except the oberkorn as the lead clock and sequencer. i will explain a patch not in full detail but here goes.
oberkorn cva to wallkko anti osc tri out going to 2nd anti osc tri out going to the bubblesound sem/20 filter comeing out the bp to lpg on qmmg then to doepfer 125 pshifter then into delay on the tiptop z5k. bass is doepfer 154/155 going into 141 vcadsr then split to the cv1 of doepfer a110 and to the cutoff on vca on qmmg. snare is a118 doepfer to qmmg vca and a trigger hitting a 141 vcadsr to vary the snare a slight bit with the woggle bug from make noise adding retrigger to the 141. and all the last bit the bass is into the cwejman sph2 and snare into another tiptop z5k. thanks some bubblesound ulfo in there adding odulations here and there"

Orbiter: collisions driving sampler #3

YouTube via rubymatt — May 03, 2010 — "Now optimised to handle up to 64 particles at 50Hz. With 8 voices collisions can trigger one of two samples."

Audio not so good in the previous two vis:

Orbiter: collisions play sampler #2

"rubymatt — April 27, 2010 — Particles now have an "energy level" that is randomly assigned at initialisation time. Brighter particles have more energy. When particles collide they trigger a slice of the sample to play (the sample is divided into a number slices equal to the number of particles) based on their particle numbers. Pitch is related to Y position, Granularity to X, Speed & amplitude to the collision energy. It's all still captain random and, maybe, will never amount to much but it's been interesting getting this far and nice to hear *something* for my (quite disproportionate) efforts!"

Orbiter: collisions driving sampler

"rubymatt — April 26, 2010 — When two particles collide it now triggers the sampler. The collision parameters (and particle data) determine the resynthesis parameters. Lots of work to do here. Spectular: YouTube have stripped the audio channel from my video again leaving only the mic audio. Useless."

Update:

TMA-2: Energy to velocity

rubymatt — May 04, 2010 — "This thing doesn't get any less silly.

In the latest version particle energy now determines particle speed (brighter particles have more energy and move faster). At this point the only thing left to fix in the basic model is the result of collisions. At the moment only one particle is redirected.

It's not apparent from the video but I also spent quite some time doing further CPU optimisations to make 64 particles feasible. In the previous version I was still getting audio overloads. Even then though I have had to drop the update frequency to 25Hz.

Once the base model is complete the next thing to add is a gravity well that you can place in the vessel to deform the trajectory of particles. Since the X,Y co-ordinates of a collision determine the pitch and granularity of the sample playback this will offer a means to 'shape' the sound without directly controlling it.

A future version of the Reaktor ensemble (tentatively called TMA-2 at this point) will drive an additive oscillator bank instead of a sampler. That might prove more musical. Or not..."
