YouTube via attorks — May 08, 2010 — "Again last night I was playing around with Nodal. This time I synchronized the Doepfer MAQ16/3 sequencer from Nodal through MIDI. Nodal plays 3 sequences. The first sequence is driving the Creamware MiniMax ASB, the second is transposing the Synthesizers.com sequence and the third is doing the bassline performed by a sine wave from the Ian Fritz Teezer Through-Zero VCO fed to the Resonant LoPass Gate. The Doepfer MAQ16/3 plays two 7-step sequences. The first sequence is driving the Synthesizers.com Modular which is transposed by Nodal, and the second is driving the self-built Modular."

New STG Modules

"these modules are the next in the "dot series" (.BAM, .VCA, etc.) i've ordered the first rev PCBs this week and if they check out i'll get the front panels.

this is .MIX. it's a mixer with a transistor makeup gain stage copied from the Moog CP3, including the rail voltages (a regulator is used to provide the -6V rail).

there are no opamps in this thing at all, and it will be driven into distortion easily. alot of the tones on Redshift records are multiple oscillators being distorted by the CP3 mixers.

the output attenuator is bipolar.

the .COM is a comparator/divider optimised for audio and based on the SH-101's suboctave circuit. a fourth output which ANDs the main output and the first suboctave is provided in addition to the original 3. the signal input is at the top and the other input jack is for voltage control of the threshold for PWM.

by "optimised for audio" what i mean is that its output swing isn't 0-5V, but -5V to 5V.

i might change the text from "threshold" to "pulse width". i don't know. they're both accurate.

'what would i need this for?' you might ask, i would answer that maybe you want to use a filter as an oscillator, or perhaps you'd like suboctaves on your sawtooth oscillator.
