Roland S-550 Digital Sampler
via this auction
"80's digital sampler. I bought the device and then hunted down a monochrome screen.. I download the original synth sounds off the internet, and ripped them to double density 3.5 floppy disks which aren't available anymore. You can find high density 3.5 disks and put a piece of tape over one of the holes which converts them to double density. After that I had to format the disk with windows 98 so I could set the size to 720kb. I was able to get the system disk and every sound that Roland made for the device. works great, if you don't mind waiting 60 seconds to load a sound bank of about 8 different samples. You can record samples and play them back in different keys. auction includes the Roland s-550 with monochrome screen user manual flopply disk drawer and over 60 disks."

Day 202 / Getting Jeff's Bliptronome Set Up
Day 202 / Getting Jeff's Bliptronome Set Up from Charlie Visnic on Vimeo.
"For this creative thing I spent the evening with my buddy Jeff getting his computer set up to use the Bliptronome I assembled for him.
At the end of the evening we were messing around with some loops he had made in Reason with MLR.
Very disappointed with the reaction time of the Bliptronome. We could not get reliable 16th notes out of it. The fastest we could play consistently was 8th notes.
This is a short compilation of Jeff's Jam with his new loops.
This was my creative thing of the day for my creative thing a day blog at: theb-roll.com"
