Olegtron* 3-Axis 01
YouTube via olegtron | November 01, 2010
"A game console from the future. Players use knobs to tune 3 oscillators (3/4 CMOS 4093) and seek for harmony in sound and picture. Oscillators control 3 multiplexers (3 x CMOS 4516&4067) that move two light dots on the 3-color 38-pixel hexagonal led matrix display. Fourth oscillator (1/4 CMOS 4093) blinks the whole display. Sounds are mixed together with a parity bit generator made out of a CMOS 4070."

"Extremely rare and sought after RSF MODULAR 11 (only 20 Systems made) from 1976. THE Father of KOBOLs, EXPANDERS and POLYKOBOL. That system contains 3 VCO 11, 1 VCF 11, 1 VCA 11, 1 GEU 11 ( ADSR + AR ), 1 ALIM 11, 1 Multiples + 2 CV in + 2 Gate in, 1 VCP 11, 1 VCP 12 ( 2 EXTRAORDINARY Analog phasers / flangers with a GORGEOUS SOUND ) The system is built in a lovely wooden case. As in an ARP 2600, some modulations are prepatched for some modules. The sound is Massive and Wonderful! Nevertheless, it will need a good synth technician WIZARD to precisely Tune and Calibrate the VCOs as they are really ' out of tune ' at the moment! You can see some pictures of the individual modules on the official RSF Site. Runs on 220 V. Cosmetics very good. Needs tuning and calibration. In northern France. Collection by VEMIA should be possible."

"For sale here is a RSF Modular 11 system which contains 8 modules + a multiple patchbay underneath. System has 2x VCO, 1x GEV(env), 2x VCA, 1x MNT(mixer), 1x VCF, 1x ALM(power supply). The modules need to be wired again, some minor repairs and calibration need to be done to get this fully functional again. Not many of these modules were produced during 1977-1978. Only about 300 modules maximum, and that for a total of 20 systems worldwide. So these RSF modules are even rarer than old Buchla modules, which were produced in quantities of 500 modules. This is certainly a great addition for the real analog purist who wants something different than the mainstream modulars offered today. The VCO's have a very fat sound and the frequency level that can be reached is amazing. RSF Modular 11 doesn't realy pop up everyday, it's just pure luck that there is another Modular 11 here on Vemia, otherwise it might take you ages to get your hands on one. A picture will be on display asap."

Dr Zinovieff's original Synthi A Up for Auction
 via VEMIA
via VEMIA"A great chance to own a piece of history, and a wonderful example of a classic instrument. This is Dr Peter Zinovieff's own Synthi A, serial number 4016, which has been beautifully restored by Robin Wood at EMS in the last two months and is in perfect working order. Work done included replacing all three vernier knobs, servicing the joystick to make it a joy to use, and replacing eight pins with new ones - as well as getting it all up to Robin's exacting specs. Four badly-done mods were removed. The case was also provided by Robin. The earliest Synthis often didn't have cases, so Robin has spared one of his last few to make this instrument complete. It has a couple of repairs to the edge, visible if you look very closely at botom left and top right; and seems to have a small gap in the top left corner. But the metalwork and general condition is exceptional - see the photo. The main differences from the machine as designed are that the two main audio oscillators (VCO1 and VCO2) have had the stabilisation mod, and the input gain on channel one has been converted to a ten-turn pot - all very useful. Cosmetically it is very nice indeed, as evidenced by the photos. It will come with Dr. Zinovieff's full written provenance (he believes this is the actual Synthi used in the 'Every Picnic Needs a Synthi' advert), and his signature on the instrument wherever you choose. In the composite photo is a picture of Robin Wood and Dr Zinovieff after the servicing was completed in September."

RSF Modular 11: Largest collection worldwide?

flickr By jobenbelgium
"I think that this is the biggest RSF Modular 11 system in the world. Not seen many of these since the 15 years i'm playing synthesizers/ modulars. Also notice the RSF Polyclavier, wich gives you 8x cv-gate, sequencer, arpeggiator. The best known product by RSF was the Kobol Expander, which was also available in a monophonic keyboard, and there was also the bigger Polykobol, but these have been built in low quantitys."
Update via tesl@ in the comments: "The biggest RSF system is an custom full 8 voice, full modular patchable and with memorys aswell for the knobs and patches (yes!) its hosted all in 19'' format racks. Only 2 prototype systems where made. Peter B. was one of the conceptors.
The systems still excist,on is in Belgium the other in USA."
And via D' Naab 136:
"These big 8 voice systems with memory are not modular 11 systems.
These are systems composed of 8 x expander I's, 2 x expander II's, 2 x prorammers and polyclavier.
More than 2 exist:
-I know of one here in Belgium.
-One of these monsters was sold last year for only 9000 EUR in France.
-Another one was also up for auction at vemia last year."
