Curtis for iPad Turns 2.0

"We’re eminently pleased to announce the 2.0 release of Curtis today, with some great new features:
* • All new user interface
* • Amplitude envelope
* • Scratch mode
* • Chromatic pitch quantize
We think this edition is a great improvement over the last. It’s far more musical, with chromatic quantize snapping the grain pitch to actual notes. A fantastic idea from Sleazy! The new amplitude envelope greatly extends usability and expressivity, so Curtis doesn’t perpetually sound, but can now be played like a more traditional instrument. Controls have all been surfaced, so there is no longer a need to flip down a hidden panel. The scratch mode we were playing around with some months ago has been incorporated as well. A big thanks to the users who wrote with suggestions, ideas, and demands!"

Marsynth prototype testing
YouTube via marsynth | November 08, 2010
"Finally some new stuff to share!
Running a recently completed Morris Box through a new prototype. This will be the first Marsynth device with an external input for running whatever you want through it: guitar, vocals, other Marsynth stuff... anything!
This video highlights the more chaotic capabilities of the device. Footage of smoother and more subtle capabilities coming soon.
As always, thanks for watching!"

Tone's Analog Synthesizer Projects and Products

synovatron on eBay
Projects include:
* DIY Prototyping Kits 1, 2 and 3
* Standard ribbon cable
* Extender ribbon cable
Also see the front panel artwork on site.

These will enable you to make neat prototype or one-off projects that accomodate bracketed pots, PCB mounted jacks, switches and LEDS so that they can be easily mounted to a module front panel.
The idea is that you build your designs on the breadboards supplied and get the front panel manufactured separately, either by yourself, or by a company such as Schaeffer"
Update: eBay links updated to synovatron. If you subbed to synthomaniac, update it to synovatron as the old store will close.
MacBeth Mk1 Analogue Keyboard Controller

www.macbethstudiosystems.com
Update: "This is the prototype of the MacBeth Mk1 (true) Analogue Keyboard Controller that I have been working on. It got fired up this weekend that's just been! It has Quarter Inch Jacks for the 5U modular users and 3.5mm Minijacks for the 3U users. The unit sports 2 LFOs with separate 'rate' controls- and a master rate control. Both LFOs can be mixed together and sent out via the modulation wheel. The LFOs can be separately outputted from either the minijacks or the quarter inch jacks. LFO 1 includes an 'insert' jack to allow for other sources to be mixed and sent out by the mod wheel. There is also a reverse CV output, Glide, LFO 2 trig- for its sample and hold...more to follow!" via Carbon111

Sync Unit AC

via Wim: "Remember those people syncing MC-202 in ableton using tempo-synced samples of the tape sync signal? This just got a whole lot easier with my new and FREE plugin "Sync Unit AC", it provides a rock solid tape sync signal (= FSK). This works with any soundcard! No DC-coupled voodoo needed. (unlike my other plug in, Sync Unit DC)
Some sample applications:
- using a Roland TR-707, you can use the tape sync input to generate Midi Clock and Din Sync on the fly.
- same goes for KMS-30
- multiple other machines (sequencers) support tape sync, so no more jitter and audio/midi latency differences!
Currently Mac Audio Unit only, but VST versions are in early development.
