Alesis Andromeda Horror Drone

Alesis Andromeda Horror Drone by CoolColJ
"I created 4 variants of the sound and changed patches as the things progressed along. Turned on filter feedback here and there. You'll know when I do so :)

Just has some A6 delay and Lexicon exterior type reverb"

KOMA Elektronik - BD101 prototype - Musikmesse 2011

YouTube Uploaded by KOMAelektronik on Apr 10, 2011

"Christian from KOMA Elektronik shows the prototype of the KOMA BD101 Analog Gate and Delay at the 2011 Musikmesse in Frankfurt, Germany.

KOMA BD101: Mangle and cut your sound apart with an innovative vactrol controlled analog delay circuit in combination with a fully adjustable wide range frequency gate. It sounds like you're playing your instrument on the porch outside of your house and inside your amp is slowly sinking in the toilet, CV controlled of course. This might sound strange, but that's just what this pedal is about: create weird resonant frequencies, shift between heavy delayed sounds and super short pulses, with whatever instrument you want to plug into it. The BD101 comes standard with a solid footswitch, multiple inputs, an audio and control voltage patchbay and our new innovative expression controller."

Farfisa Soundmaker - Italian Analogue Mono-Poly synth

via this auction

"Built from 1979 to 1981, this thing cost around £900 new (this model was bought in 1982, I think I've got the receipt somewhere!) which put it in competition with some pretty serious hardware. It also explains why it's so rare. It was in production until just before MIDI, the Prophet 600 and Juno 106 came along, but looks like it's from an entirely different era. The whole keyboard and front panel are angled slightly forwards, as it was designed to sit on top of a combo organ or piano (although a snazzy stand was also available as you'll see from the promotional literature included)."

Roland TR-909

via this auction

"The classic House/Techno/Electro drum machine. The 909 is a strong/hard hitting analog drum machine. Samples do not do it justice, especially since you can tweak songs as it plays.

This 909 is in amazing condition. There are a few LIGHT scratches on the casing that are barely noticeable. The case, knobs and jacks are perfect. See the pictures."

Roland SH 101 with MIDI converter installed

via this auction

"It appears that this synth was at one time in the Netherlands from the SERVAAS' plate on the back of it. It looks like the converter may have been installed over there from the language on the post-it note attatched to the front of the manual."

Note the glossy surface. Anyone know more about that?

"This was a commission for Chris Wing (www.winganimation.com) who lives in San Francisco and writes cool dub tracks.

I have only used six patch combinations in the video, but there are literally thousands to explore.

The box has MIDI in and out, and a switch to route the drum machine's audio signal through a 'voice modulator' section, which has pitch and LFO controls.

Apologies for the inferior drum programming - I'm looking forward to hearing Chris do it justice!"

I have labeled very simply the basic buttons/knobs but if you know them well you can easily remove these! But they are handy to familiarize initially... It takes 6xAA Batteries and has a really cool multi-colour-changing "on" light."
