Böhm 12/24 synthesizer expander demo

YouTube Uploaded by ikworgek on Nov 12, 2011

"All sounds from the Böhm.

The Böhm 12/24 is a fully programmable synthesizer from Germany.
It contains 4 Yamaha FM-chips. It was aimed at the market of organplayers and it is capable of some decent organsounds but it can do much more than that. It has a memory of 400 sounds, midi in out and thru and a pair of stereo-outputs. The synth was delivered as a DIY kit, all parts were delivered but you had to essemble it yourself. It was also delivered under the name of Orla.
Böhm als made some very nice drumcomputers."

A quick note: Normally I only post major updates to synths, apps and controllers. I thought this was worth posting to point out that even when apps are not updated, they still need to be reviewed and tested for OS updates. Developers that care about their products will do so. Some apps do stop working with OS updates.

xi lang Version 3 Released

"ixi lang take on Steve Reich's Piano Phase"

via ixi audio: "The ixi lang is a musical system aiming to make live coding available and understandable to all. Live coding represents the latest, and cutting-edge, development in computer music. Conferences, journals and festivals have picked up on this new style of musical performance and dedicated space for it (e.g., International Computer Music Conference, New Interfaces for Musical Expression, Computer Music Journal, etc.). A specific website and mailing list exists here: http://www.toplap.org

The core idea in ixi lang is to represent events in a spatial layout, thus merging musical code and musical scores in a real-time musical improvisation context. Kids should be able to use the system and grandparents should understand it. The ixi lang can be downloaded here (free and open source), and a paper presented at International Computer Music Conference is here [PDF].

Perhaps a good way to understand the system is to look at some videos here, some by Julio d'Escrivan here, and the following two videos.

How to hook up with Ableton Live using ixi lang as a master MIDI clock:

"first live coding steps using IXI lang to drive Ableton LIVE so you can sync to loops... essentially just wanted to show that it is possible and easy, then the challenge is trying to modify your patterns so they will groove with the loops... this is not that easy (hehe) but I thought I'd just mess about a bit to encourage myself and others to do the same. Thank you Thor!"

"And Ash Sagar recently performed with ixi lang in York:"

Here comes the CMU-800.It is the AMDEK make which I owned.(not RolandDG logo)
This clip is my first CMU-800's Sounds DEMO.It is controlled by MIDI."skclabo(my friend)" made this MIDI-IF.

E-mu Emulator choirs

YouTube Uploaded by SynthManiaDotCom on Nov 11, 2011

"The classic E-mu Emulator, a fantastic-sounding early sampler from the early 1980s. Its "grainy" choir sound was one of my favorite sounds growing up as a young keyboardist in the '80s."
