IDOW & MATRIXSYNTH Modular Pic of the Week - Week 4 Contest Winner!

"Our fourth winner of the Modular Pic of the Week contest goes to Mesak for his 'Se-quenching.'

Mesak is a musician and producer coming originally from Turku, Finland. Releases are mostly electro, techno & skweee, but various projects include also rather experimental electronic music. At the moment he´s working on music and running the label Harmönia in Berlin Germany.

Check out Mesak's music on SoundCloud: soundcloud.com/mesak

We'd like to give a big thanks and congratulations to Mesak for his submission! This is the 4th week of a 30-week contest, and we are looking forward to many more modular photo submissions, so please keep 'em coming! For details on how to submit and what you can win, see this post.

For more info on the upcoming 'I Dream of Wires' documentary, be sure to see the trailer and IndieGoGo fund raising campaign here.

See the IDOW label for all posts pertaining to the film including the weekly contest winners."

Buchla - Patch 3, 4 & 5

"First experiments with a couple of 200e modules: 281e, 250, 266e..."

Buchla - Patch 4

"Further experiment with the Model 281e.
The Buchla - Patch 3 video was made after this one, based on quite the same patch."

Buchla - Patch 5

"Simple non-linear transformations with the 256e Control Voltage Processor and dynamic variation of the waveform amplitude on the 259e via warp control voltage. Other modules involved: 250, 281e, 266e, 292e, 210e, 206e.

It is really annoying to loose all the interesting sound properties of a patch which is mostly based on low droning freqs, deep basses and high dynamics. It is of course due to high video compression, but also to the fact that I am recording directly to the camera and its built-in mic of poor quality. Should envisage to record separately to soundcloud (effort to expend)."
