"The CP-40 converts audio signals from microphone or line-level input sources into MIDI signals in real time. Audio information, whether from someone singing or playing electric guitar, is instantaneously converted into MIDI signals. This conveniently allows you to gain control over other MIDI devices- without requiring a MIDI keyboard, or guitar controller. Volume and Pitch changes are also controllable.."
"The Korg M1 is the world's first widely-known music workstation. Its onboard MIDI sequencer and palette of sounds allowed musicians to produce complete professional arrangements. Outselling the Yamaha DX7 and Roland D-50, the M1 became the best-selling digital synthesizer of all time, which it remains today."
"We wanted to show you the work we've been doing over the last few months to get QuNeo made on schedule. This video demonstrates the LED and sensor tests, the QuNeo Editor software, and gives a quick performance of QuNeo with NI's Traktor DJ software. Enjoy!"

An IR decoder plugged into an Arduino intercepts codes transmitted by remote controls. Simple software uses the manufacturer code to choose a MIDI channel, and the button code to choose a note. It plays a single percussive note for remote codes it can't understand, like the Bose.
That synthesizer is 25 years old, and the NAD remote control probably almost the same."
