"As far as I'm aware, these things control Synare 3X drums, or plain-old Synare 3 drums that have been modified for use with this machine. I once saw an auction on here for one of these units that was new in the box (that one sold for over $300, btw), and the manual in that box contained instructions for how to perform that mod. Fortunately, the Matrixsynth blog archived a picture from that auction of that page of the manual -- here it is:" [below]

"This rare vintage Arp speaker/amp/headphone amp comes from the MSL series of learning modules. It runs on four 9V batteries (not included). This unit is sold as-is, untested. Duct tape has been used to cover the cracked/damaged portion of the bakelite housing. The 1511 would make an interesting addition to an Arp collection, a useful mini-amp, or would be good for parts, since it has a 2600 speaker, jacks, and Odyssey sliders (which move freely with no sticking).
Sold as-is."
