An Interview with John Eaton on Astronauta Pinguim

"It was also in Rome that John Eaton met the electronic engineer Paul Ketoff, inventor of the famous and legendary Syn-Ket [pictured below], in 1964. With the Syn-Ket, John Eaton has conducted more than a thousand presentations around the world and was at one of these presentations, in 1966 at Columbia University, where he met Robert Moog, who fixed the Syn-Ket, damaged during a flight, and also built a synthesizer Moog especially for Eaton! The partnership of John Eaton and Robert Moog also created the Eaton-Moog Multiple-Touch Sensitive Keyboard [left] (which John briefly explained in the interview below)."

You'll find the interview on Austronauta Pinguim in English here and Portuguese here.

Update: I added a Moog-Eaton label below for all posts mentioning John Eaton. Do check it out. You'll find a number of posts including this post with a link to an old video of John Eaton and the Eaton-Moog Multiple-Touch Sensitive Keyboard. You'll find a newer demo towards the bottom of this Animoog post. The virtual keyboard in Animoog is based on the Eaton-Moog Multiple-Touch Sensitive Keyboard.

GRAMDADDY- Trent Reznor's bones

YouTube Published on Jun 25, 2012 by tatagram

Hi. Here comes another punk rock song.

Spoken parts chosen and selected from some Trent Reznor's interview after release of Social Network.

Hardware only setup. Live play.
Elektron Machinedrum SPS-1UW, Elektron Monomachine SFX-60+, x0xb0x, Roland SP-555, Korg Radias, Microkorg XL, Korg Electribe EMX-1, Edirol M-16DX, Lexicon MX200, Lexicon MX400, Korg Kaoss Pad.

"I wasted several years playing another people bands and working at the studios,
doing things... That is because I didn't know if I had anything to say.
I didn't know, what I was saying, I didn't know, what I was talking about...
It was me not being me, it was me writing about the things...
I felt like I didn't fill in, I was lonely and I needed to do something...
That was the older current version of me, that was me a few years ago.
Like an older version of me.
It did almost feel like a natural evolution. I wanna make a music, that feel like a music
I had to make. I have tryied to give the individual records their identity,
but I needed to kind of force my hand to make a change.
The struggle on the beggining of any product like that is to try to find what is it,
that inspires you, what feels like you own to something, that you have to pursuit,
because that is all about.
Then I realised, that actually it had a power, it resonated beyond, reflecting."
