"Goodbye Juno" - A Roland Juno-106 Performance
YouTube Published on Jul 20, 2012 by bugeats
"I'm selling my Juno-106 and I thought I'd make a tribute before it's gone. Everything you hear is coming straight from this synth. Only a little EQ, panning, and compression have been added."
This was the Juno on MATRIXSYNTH-P and is now sold. It wasn't sold through P though.
A Moment
A Moment - Music featuring a Jupiter 8, Modular Synth, Pro-One, MPC & Guitar
YouTube Published on Jul 20, 2012 by synthjunk
"This track came about by playing around with chords while running the arpeggiator on the Jupiter 8. The moment I heard that sound coming out of the Jupiter I knew I had to capture it. I then laid down the guitar chords and recorded the lead that first came to mind. The modular synth is making sequencing noises in parts and one of its sequencers was used to provide gate pulses to the jupiter's arpeggio clock. The modular is a new addition to my setup which has replaced some of my other gear.
Also used was a Pro-one, JP6 & mpc. Recorded with Ableton live.
For me it's never been about learning to play better but about trying to bring out the music from within and I can definitely hear my influences from over the years in this one.
I Hope you enjoy it.

NLogSynth PRO & NLog MIDI Synth Updated
"Today new updates 5.0 of NLogSynth PRO for iPad and NLog MIDI Synth for iPhone/iPod touch will be available via App Store for free. While working hard at the new NWave app in collaboration with Waldorf, we took some time to update the classic virtual analogue synth apps of TempoRubato. In the last couple of months the codebase was renewed to add flexibility for projects like the NWave app and more to follow.

The NLogSynth update adds most wanted user requests and further complements the app with outstanding features:
- MIDI Learn
- Overdub Recording & Looping
- Sound Bank Import & Export
- True Mono/Legato Mode
- Export Media Files in another App
- Core MIDI Network Support
- Reset Parameter to Default Value
- Full MIDI CC Range 0-127 for external control
- New Default Sound
- Running Phase parameter improved & fixed.
- Update to new SDK for Akai SynthStation 25
- Modulation of the keytrack source has been increased within modulation matrix (iPad only)
- The “flat” setting for envelope slopes fixed (iPad only)
- Optimization for devices with arm7 based CPUs
… and many other fixes and improvements.
Our feature lists are fully packed with further ideas, user requests and more for upcoming updates. TempoRubato will continue to further develop NLogSynth apps apart from releasing new apps.
The Mac standalone app and AudioUnit version of NLogSynth will follow with a corresponding update in the following weeks.
Happy Synth!"

Yamaha QX-1, high-end MIDI Sequencer w/ ORIGINAL BOX. 8 MIDI OUTS!

via this auction
According to the listing: "This was one of the first high-end stand-alone MIDI sequencers. Much like the other "1" machines, stuff like the DX-1 and GX-1, it was extremely expensive when it first came out and only available to the elite of musicians. The thing has 8 bloody MIDI out ports! More than a MPC-60... Double in fact. If you've ever worked with any of Yamaha's MIDI sequencers you'll know they are arguably the best for getting ideas down quickly, this unit is no different. The keys feel great compared to the crappy keys in most stuff these days. Simply a joy to work with (especially compared to using a PC for sequencing). The swing and feel of these units is irreplaceable. While it is in good shape and works fine, I misplaced the disk for it, so you'd need to hunt one of those down to use it."

Roland Jupiter 8 rack-MKS-80 Super Jupiter Synthesizer Rev 5

Consensus has it the MKS-80 is actually somewhere between the Roland Jupiter-6 and Jupiter-8. More on that below. First the auction description:
"This is a revision 5 unit that has been tested and is working properly and has been for many years. Used in a home studio to make karaoke tracks. Original manual and cartridge are included along with a print out of the sounds on the cartridge."
Regarding the Jupiter-6 vs Jupiter-8: Here are the chips according to Synth Techs CEM page (I can't clearly make out the SN for this MKS-80 so who knows)
Jupiter 6
12 CEM3340 VCO
6 CEM3360 Dual VCA
MKS-80 to Serial #511800
8 CEM3340 VCO
4 CEM3360 DUal VCA
MKS-80 Serial #511800 up
8 IR-3R03 Roland VCO
4 CEM3360 Dual VCA
4 IR-3R05 Roland VCF/VCA
And via sequencer.de's wiki: "Jupiter 8 / MKS-80 Filter? Curtis? Roland? Thats a common mistake. But there is NO CEM filters in any of the MKS revisions. The CEM rev. has only CEM VCO and VCA even the ju8 has no curtis filters.. same for the ju6.. Both revisions uses 2 CEM3360 _DUAL_ VCA per voiceboard for Crossmodulation- The older revision usesr IR309 filter like in JP4, JP8, Juno60 etc. The newer MKS uses IR305 which is both VCF and VCA. like in Juno1/2, JX-10 etc. So it is right as follows (I will remove the wrong ones soon): MKS-80 (racked jupiter8) MKS80 used 8 x IR3RO5 ..to Serial <#511800 WRONG (called the curtis / roland myth:): 8 CEM3340 VCO 4 CEM3360 DUal VCA Should be: 16 CEM3340 VCO 8 CEM3360 Dual VCA 12 IR-3R09 VCF MKS80 serial >511800 WRONG (called the curtis / roland myth:): MKS-80 Serial #511800 up (later models) 8 IR-3R03 Roland VCO 4 CEM3360 Dual VCA 4 IR-3R05 Roland VCF/VCA Should be: 16 IR-3R03 Roland VCO 4 CEM3360 Dual VCA 8 IR-3R05 VCF/VCA "
If this doesn't completely make sense to you, and you still aren't sure what the MKS-80 is closest to, you are not alone. :)
