Inside a Roland Jupiter-4

via Abertronix on Facebook

"Inside of a Roland Jupiter 4. An old but beautiful 4 voice analog synthesizer. Its old so I need to replace most electrolytic capacitors and various other components...

The biggest worry with the Jupiter 4 is that it uses a rechargeable nicad battery to save your settings. The problem is that old batteries have a tendency to leak acid which eats away the copper traces in the circuit. Not impossible to fix but a pain. Im crossing my fingers with this one."

BOSS GE-10 graphic equalizer

YouTube Uploaded by moogfreak on May 2, 2008

"This is the vintage analogue BOSS graphic equalizer GE-10. In this video I will show the potential of this old nice-sounding EQ by equalizing a sequence played with the moog prodigy analog synthesizer. Please excuse the little pumping of the compressor from my videocam."

Vintage Synthesizer Sequencer SQ-01 1981

"Quite a rare quirky analogue synth/sequencer made in Japan by a company called Firstman, which was part of Multivox I believe. Made around 1981. Step or real time sequencer with 1024 notes in total with 16 non destructive memory locations.

This is pre-midi but has full CV control, which is where it works best. Quite a fat analogue sound which produces some lovely bass notes and sounds great in a mix.

CV In/out, clock in/out, gate in/out, footswitch in, Synchro out

Runs on 8x AA batteries or external 12v power supply (not included)

No noisy pots, althougn there are a few surface marks on the membrane keyboard it all works as it should.

A PDF of the operating instructions are available online.

This is built on a metal frame and weighs about 4kg, hence postage of £10 It will be well packed for shipping."

"There is 4 small holes across the top that would have once held a music sheet stand.

The synth sounds a bit like a Juno but better in a way as the juno has one voice and the JX has 2, so can be De-Tuned for FAT sounds! :-)"
