REWORK_ App (Philip Glass Remixed)

Published on Dec 12, 2012 by ssnibbe

"REWORK_ (Philip Glass Remixed) is an interactive tour through the amazing new REWORK_ album that remixes Philip Glass' music. The app includes eleven interactive visualizations for the remixed songs, along with an interactive "Glass Machine" that lets people create their own music inspired by Philip Glass' early music.

The idea for the REWORK_ album came together during a conversation between Philip Glass and his friend and new collaborator Beck. The pair recruited producer Hector Castillo (David Bowie, Björk, Lou Reed) to help assemble a collection of remixes of Glass' works by a list of critically acclaimed artists including Beck himself, Tyondai Braxton, Amon Tobin, Cornelius, Dan Deacon, Johann Johannsson, Nosaj Thing, Memory Tapes, Silver Alert, Pantha du Prince, My Great Ghost and Peter Broderick.

To complement the album, app developer Snibbe Studio (creator of Björk's Biophilia app) created the REWORK_ app to give fans an interactive musical experience."

Larry Fine on Helping Bob Moog with his Yamaha MTS Keyboard

The Bob Moog Foundation has an interesting post up on the personal account of Larry Fine being called up by Bob Moog to work on his Yamaha CP-80 electric grand.

Pictured: "Moog and Fine with completed Yamaha MTS keyboard. Photo credit: Bob Moog Foundation"

"From 1986 to 1988, I worked with electronic-music pioneer Robert Moog (rhymes with vogue), custom-building experimental keyboard instruments. In 1993, I wrote this account of our work together, and an abbreviated version was published around that time in Piano & Keyboard magazine, no longer in business. This is the first publication of the unabridged version. A Postscript with updated information about Moog and his family follows the article.—L.F."

"Had I known then how complicated the job would be, and that it would last not three months but two-and-a-half years’ worth of Saturdays (and sometimes Sundays, plus three months of full-time work), I never would have signed on. It’s a good thing I didn’t know, because it turned out to be one of the most fascinating and enjoyable jobs I’ve ever had."

Arturia MiniBrute & MIAMI & Dark Time

Published on Dec 12, 2012 by AudioCentralMagazine

"A dirty test for Arturia MiniBrute under CV/Gate and MIDI Control: (analog) notes from Doepfer Dark Time Step Sequencer are firing the synthesizer, who's arpeggiating - under MIDI Clock - the sequencer's notes thru the internal arpeggio pattern. An Acidlab.de MIAMI Analog Drum Machine is filterer thru MiniBrute and MIDI synched to Dark Time."

"Korg BPX-3 Ultra Rare Analog Bass Synth & Korg PK-13 Pedal.
This is a Bass Pedal that come comes with the control foot keyboard PK-13, Original DIN Cable that connects the Bass Synth Module and the BPX-3.

I've never seen this unit sold complete, nor have I ever seen any in near mint condition. Few Companies designed these Analog Bass Synth Pedals, the most common was the MOOG Taurus and less popular Cummar versions, I had no idea that KORG had produced any Analog Bass Pedals, so I was taken back when I purchased this.

I'm a Synth Guy, But I'm not great with my feet."
